It's another 2 Gig/Live Performance weekend for our TIF Derby Choir this coming weekend!

On Friday they have their TIF Summer Showcase & there are still a handful of seats left so comment below if you'd like us to save you a seat or 2!

On Saturday they are then heading over to sing their socks off LOUD & PROUD at the Alvaston Park Friends 'Community Family Fun Day' in the LIVE PERFORMANCE ARENA at 12:10pm alongside some other FANTASTIC Dance Groups, Singers/Vocalists and Bands including our friends 'Sons of Jericho' a band made up of volunteers from another life changing Derby Charity Jericho House drug treatment project Derby

Weather Permitting there will be a Dog Show too alongside many FREE Activities, a variety of stalls, a Mini Fun Fair & a variety of options for food and drinks too!

💙 IN EVERY DISABILITY, THERE'S THE ABILITY TO SHINE! 💙

Our TIF Derny Choir have been exceptionally busy bee's working hard (whilst also making sure to still be having LOTS of FUN) during Friday night Choir rehearsals AND shining brighter than ever before & singing even LOUDER & EVEN PROUDER at gigs and live performances!

This past week has been especially 'creativley chaotic' and 'positively powerful'; having been asked without any exra rehearsal time to open Act 2 of the University of Derby Graduate Fashion Show on Thursday at Derby Market Hall by the wonderful Pam from Artcore which was followed by their first run through of the TIF Summer Showcase at Choir reharsals on Friday (There are still some seats available so comment below if you'd like us to save you some seats) which was THEN followed by an eye opening, extra magical & even more inspirational performance at Derby Cathedral on Saturday celebrating 135 years of Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre - another sensational Charity based in Derby that makes a difference to the lives of so many children & young people helping them to create the most precious memories in providing them with the 'holiday of a lifetime'! It was such a wholesome event that brought an entire Cathedral of people together as ONE including the amazing Dignitries of Derby, Derbyshire & beyond including The Mayor of Derby for 2026 - 2027 Cllr Jonathan Smale who gave a lovely shout out on his post about to the children & young people in our TIF Derby Choir for what truly was a sensational, heartfelt, beautiful and fun filled performance including what still remains the choirs favourite song 'Chosen Family'!

TIF Derby really have come back this year with even more self confidence, even more self belief & even more resillence! And they are well and truly going out their and doing what they do best - using their voices to raide awareness of Invisible Disabilities, becoming the voice for others who are currently suffering in silence & being the greatest of advocates in showing us all that no matter what, in every Disability there is the ABILITY to SHINE! And we couldn't be any prouder of each and everyone of them if we tried!

The Pride of TIF 2026 is without a doubt going to be the BEST ONE YET & one the choir are working incredibly hard on already to ensure theg put on the performance of a life time! This year we are also blessed with the best of Guest Acts:

📢💙 SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT 📢💙

We are super excited to be taking along a small group of our TIF Derby Choir along to perform at this event tomorrow! Our Super Stars will be singing at 4pm!

Artcore is another amazing Charity that Makes a magnamanous difference to the lives of so many others including those here in the community of Derby & it is a pleasure and an honour to be supporting them tomorrow!

💙🎉 BBC RADIO MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY 🎉💙

Yesterday was BBC Radio & BBC News Make a Difference Day; recognising & celebrating the difference hundreds of thousands of AMAZING people NATIONWIDE make thrkugh volunteering for so many incredible Charities and Causes and in Derby one of thise charties was The Invisible Friends !

Our Co-Founder, Trustee abd Voluntary Choir Leader for our TIF Derby Choir Abbie Tabberer was invited by BBC Derby & BBC News (Eastmidlands Today) to talk about the work she continues to do for both the Charity as a whole but moreso for the differences she continues to make to the lives of so many children & young people (and their fanilies) who live with an Invisible Disability following on from having won the Volunteer Award at the BBC Radio Derby 'Make a Difference Awards' in 2024!

This past week has also been 'Volunteers Week' and so we would also like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to our Co-Founder & Trustee Dutch Van Spall , The Invisible Friends Vocal Coach & Trustee Nicky Dawn Newman our Chair of Trustees Callum Wachowski & the rest of our outstanding Board of Trustees: Ged Potter Morwenna Crichton Jaki Weller Mark Stothard all of whom put their heart, their soul & the little 'extra time' they always manage to find to give to TIF and whom without The Invisible Friends Charity would not be what it is today, where it is today and how far, as a NATIONAL CHARITY we continue to strive to 'Grow & Go'!

We would also like to give a MASSIVE amount of thanks to our TIF Derby Choir Team of Volunteers

All of whom give up their time FOR FREE every Friday evening from February until December & at the endless amount of gigs our TIF Derby Choir sing/perform at most weekends (and in school holidays too) to keep our children & young people safe, happy and content & all of whom go that extra mile in providing them all with any help, support, guidance or advice we often find they need and value on a weekly basis; extending and reaching this out to the parents and carers of our TIF Derby Choir Superstars too!

And then we have the highly committed Parents & Carers who invest so much of their time into the TIF Derby Choir & into the Charity by ensuring their child/children attend Chkur rehearsals every Fridsy & as many gigs/live performances as possible (some even worming their family holiday around their childs commitments with TIF Derby!)

And last but by means least we thank our TIF Derby Superstars for their commitment, dedization, love & devotion to our TIF Derby Choir. For working so incredibly hard in rehearsals (despite very often feeling fatigued or in pain) and for attending ad many gigs/live perfirmances as possible. Their hearts very much hold a massive part of TIF within them & together they have become their very own 'Chosen Family' 💙

We would also like to give a special mention to our Young Ambassador of The Invisible Friends Charity Immi Davis who still at the tender age of 13 takes a part of TIF with her wherever she goes! And we wohld like to thank both Immi & her wonderful Mum Lisa Davis for travelling MILES every year so that Immi can attend our biggest fundraising event of the year 'The Pride of TIF' - We are so very blessded to have such an amazing young person who again gives up their time for FREE to represent the Charity everywhere she goes!

Our TIF Derby Choir of Superstars have been working so hard, singing their socks off (a Special Mention to our New Members of our TIF Derby Choir for showing such dedication already by going home and catching up on learning all the songs the rest of the choir have been working on & singing since February!) and giving all they have got and more to prepare for what we are certain ia going to be a SPECTACULAR Summer Showcase!
