🏠 COMMUNITY HUB WANTED 🏠

Pass It On Rotherham CIC is exploring the possibility of finding a small community hub to operate from.

Our current container has served us well, but we're reaching the point where additional space would allow us to sort, clean and store donated furniture and household items more effectively, helping us support even more local people while saving usable items from landfill.

We're not looking for anything fancy – just a practical space with room to work and grow.

Do you know of any vacant units, warehouses, workshops, industrial premises, church halls, unused buildings, or landlords who may be willing to support a local community project?

If you know of anything that may be suitable, please comment below or send us a message. Its becoming impossible to process items efficiently

All can be collected from brinsworth street rotherham or we can deliver for fuel costs wednesday lunchtime or thursday morning

people have asked why we’ve had to pause donations again, so here’s the answer.

It isn’t because the items aren’t useful. We are grateful for all donations. It’s because as a small grassroots project operating from containers, we’ve reached the point where we physically can’t process everything quickly enough.

Every donation that comes in has to be collected, unloaded, sorted, cleaned, photographed, listed, stored, moved again, delivered or distributed — and when collections continue faster than items go back out, space disappears very quickly.

This photo is the reality behind the scenes right now. There is no power or water at the container so we have to load the items and take them to power source to clean then return to storage.

We’re taking a step back to reorganise, work through stock properly and create space so we can continue helping local households effectively instead of becoming overwhelmed by volume.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support

SOFAS AVAILABLE – NEED GONE ASAP

We need these moved quickly to free up container space, so priced to sell.

🛋 Beige 4 seater sofa + matching chair
£80 ono
🛋 Grey sofa with storage footstool
£50 ono

Both are used and from pet homes, so please expect signs of use and they are not immaculate.

The grey sofa has damage to the back corner fabric (not seen of against wall) and the beige set has some marks.

Still plenty of life left in them and comfortable

Collection preferred from Rotherham.
Delivery possible locally at extra cost.

🚫 DONATION PAUSE NOTICE 🚫

After tomorrow’s booked collections, we will be temporarily pausing further furniture donations whilst we work through the large amount of stock currently stored in our container.

We never like turning donations away, but space is extremely limited right now and we need to focus on sorting, redistributing and moving existing items back out into the community before taking more in.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support Pass It On Rotherham CIC through donations, shares, referrals and purchases.

The support genuinely means a lot and has helped us support local households with affordable and free furniture.

We are especially in need of:
✔ Modern furniture
✔ Smaller household essentials
✔ Items suitable for younger people setting up home

We’ll update the page as soon as donations reopen.

And on another note. .... were still on the hunt for a suitable unit to work from. That would enable us to operate more smoothly and make a bigger impact in our community.

After a short break, Pass It On Rotherham CIC is now back up and running

Collections will restart from Monday and we’ll begin working through messages, donation enquiries and referrals again over the next few days.

Thank you to everyone who has continued supporting us, donating items and sharing the page while we’ve been away.

Every item reused is one less going to landfill — and one more chance to help someone create a better home and a better future.

As always, please be mindful that donated items should be clean, usable and something you’d genuinely be happy to receive yourself. We support people at difficult points in life, and dignity matters. Once we have a running unit we can open donations up further but as were limited on space we are prioritising items for referrals.

Another great donation today – 2 large sofas and a chair

As always, everything will be fully hoovered, cleaned and prepared before going to its next home.

But here’s the reality…

We’re currently doing all of this without a unit.

That means unloading at home, cleaning one piece at a time on the driveway, then loading it back into the van. It’s slow, it’s hard work, and it’s holding the project back. All single handedly

For something that’s clearly needed in Rotherham, it’s honestly frustrating that there’s no affordable space available to help us operate properly.

We’re ready to do more.
We just need the space to do it.

If you know of any empty units, warehouses, or affordable spaces sitting unused – or you’re in a position to help – please get in touch.

Let’s not waste good furniture when it could be helping local people set up homes and move forward with their lives.

🚐 We’re back out collecting!

Peggy is back on the road after her MOT dramatics - so collections are up and running again

We’ll be carrying out collections up until 5th May, then we’ll be taking a short break (until 14th) for a holiday.

📦 If you’ve got good condition furniture, appliances or household items to donate, now’s the time—drop us a message!

🙋‍♂️ Volunteer needed

We’re also looking for a reliable volunteer to help with collections and deliveries.

- As and when needed
- Thursdays or Fridays
- Must be able to help with lifting and loading

A great way to support the local community and help people set up their homes.
