We are Hiring a Fundraising and Finance Officer!

Job Purpose
To lead on fundraising, income generation, and oversight of financial processes to increase the charity’s income. The postholder will be responsible for researching and securing grant funding, developing, and delivering fundraising initiatives, and leading community engagement and awareness-raising. The post holder also is responsible for managing the organisation’s income, banking, and financial records.

This generous award comes after we previously received a £25,000 boost from the People's Postcode Lotteryast October — an amazing show of continued support for our work.

This funding will help us continue providing vital support to individuals and families affected by asbestos-related diseases across Yorkshire and Humberside.

Activity & Support Worker (Home Working)
• 28 hours per week
• £17.35 per hour (£25,261 per annum)
• Facilitating support groups across Yorkshire and Humberside
Job Purpose: This role organises five monthly support groups across Yorkshire and Humberside, coordinating speakers, attendance, and catering, while providing support to reduce isolation and empower service users and their families. Regular travel is required.

Admin & Communications Officer (Rotherham)
• 35 hours per week
• £17.35 per hour (£31,577 per annum)
• Based in our Rotherham office
Job Purpose: This role is the first point of contact for all enquiries and referrals to SARAG, providing compassionate support and managing administrative and communications tasks. It helps the team operate efficiently, promotes the charity’s work, and supports strong relationships with service users, professionals, and partners.

Please note that our office will be closed from 1pm this afternoon and will reopen on 2 January.

What an amazing day—proof of just how powerful community can be!

Over 100 service users and supporters came together for our annual Christmas Dinner, filling the room with warmth, connection, and joy. Events like this remind us that community isn’t just about gathering; it’s about lifting one another up, sharing moments that matter, and creating a sense of belonging for everyone.

We’re truly grateful for the chance to come together, give back, and celebrate the strength of our community. Here’s to many more moments like this!

Oh, and a huge thanks to SANTA/Simon Bolton and Michaela Morris for organising such a great event.

On Remembrance Day, we honour those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them.”

We are forever grateful for the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

At 11 a.m., we will pause for a moment of silence to honour the fallen.
