Ross Rotary Club members present a £3,000 cheque to Brody's Trust after their successful Charity Golf Day at Forest Hills Golf Club

Despite showery weather throughout the day, spirits remained high as 92 golfers took part in the Charity Golf Day at Forest Hills Golf Club, organised by Ross Rotary Club in support of Brody's Trust.

Players from across the country turned out in impressive numbers, undeterred by the occasional rain shower, to enjoy a day of friendly competition, camaraderie and fundraising for a worthy cause.

Thanks to the generosity of golfers, sponsors and supporters, the event raised an outstanding £3,000 for Brody's Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting children and families facing serious illness.

Ross Rotary Club expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in making the day such a success.

"The weather may have been a little unpredictable, but the support we received was absolutely amazing. It was fantastic to see 92 golfers taking part and enjoying themselves while helping to raise vital funds for Brody's Trust. We would like to thank Forest Hills Golf Club, our sponsors, volunteers and all the players who contributed to such a successful event."

The day combined competitive golf with plenty of fun, laughter and community spirit, demonstrating once again the strong support for local charitable causes across the Ross-on-Wye area.

With £3,000 raised, the event will provide valuable assistance to Brody's Trust and its ongoing work supporting local families.

The UK's biggest single outing for disadvantaged children is happening today!

The Rotary Children's Fun Day is taking 25,000 children on over 200 days out across the country, all supported by Rotary volunteers.

From theatres to zoos, theme parks to the seaside, Rotary Children's Fun Days give memorable experiences to vulnerable children who need it most.

We hope that everyone attending a Rotary Children's Fun Day in 2026 has an incredible day!

Thank you to our partners Kids in Mind who help make it possible.

Today marks World Environment Day! 🌍 A day to celebrate Rotary volunteers who are taking hands-on action to improve their local environments 🙌🌱

Members of Chesterfield Rotary Club are working with other organisations to create a new bee-friendly garden at Chesterfield railway station 🐝whilst members of the Rotary Club of Church & Oswaldtwistle carry out regular maintenance sessions at their local train station, such as litter clearing, weeding, trimming vegetation and planting seasonal flowers and bulbs.

Just two of the many environment projects that Rotary members are involved in across Great Britain and Ireland, united by a passion for positive change🌻🌳

On Sunday 24 May 2026 a procession made its way from the Hay Festival to The Warren in Hay-on-Wye.

There on the shale beach; communities, campaigners, councillors, artists and river guardians gathered to witness a landmark moment in the campaign to Save the Wye — and in the growing Rights of Nature movement across the UK.

The launch of the River Wye Charter marks what is believed to be the UK’s first full catchment Rights of River Charter, and the first Rights of River framework for a Welsh river.

Rooted in collaboration across borders, landscapes and communities, the Charter recognises the River Wye not merely as a resource to be managed, but as a living ecosystem with intrinsic rights: the right to flow, to regenerate, to sustain biodiversity, and to exist free from pollution.

The Wye Charter, endorsed by councils in the Catchment at the Warren near Hay on Wye yesterday.

Rotary District 1100 was represented by PDG Drewe Lacey Bob Handley, Environment Lead 25/26
and Andy Inkpen, Environment lead 26/27.
