We are a Herefordshire based charity providing therapeutic horticulture for people with disabilities, mental health challenges, or those who are socially isolated. We hope to create community gardens in the UK to support early food, farming and health education in schools, and to promote therapeutic healing for those suffering from learning disabilities and mental health issues.

🪴Yucca Looking for a New Home! 🪴
These two yucca plants have been growing in one of our polytunnels for a few years but they've now outgrown the space available and it's time for them to move on.

We'd welcome a donation to Ross Community Garden in exchange, with all proceeds helping us to support our community activities and therapeutic garden sessions.

A few photos from our recent Adult Garden Sessions at Ross Community Garden. We have been busy caring for the raised beds, collecting and sorting flower seeds, planting, mowing and helping prepare the garden for the months ahead. These shared activities not only help maintain the garden, but also provide opportunities to develop skills, improve wellbeing and build friendships. Thank you to everyone involved 💚🌱🍃

The autumn is here. The days grow colder. We are harvesting our last crops in the garden. The pace is changing and we transition into a the new season. Autumn tells us to slow down, let go and prepare for winter. And so we do. At the Community Garden the children pull the last carrots out of the ground and we are planting the promises of the next spring to come.

A huge thank you goes out to Ross Garden Store for their generous donation of two big bags of daffodil bulbs and compost! Those bulbs are bringing lots of smiles to children's faces - now and then again in spring.

As a charity we highly appreciate material donations from businesses. This could be seeds, compost, timber, tools, play equipment, paint, craft materials, etc. And there are so many more ways to make a real difference: donating, volunteering, becoming a friend. What a lovely afternoon we had at the Family Drop-in at the Community Garden. We celebrated the Autumn Equinox - that beautiful turning point when the season gently shifts. We celebrated the harvest, the change of light, all the things we love about Autumn and Winter, friendship, and so much more...

In the busyness of everyday life, it can be easy to rush from one thing to the next. The turning of the season gives us a natural invitation to pause, notice, give thanks and be together.

Thank you to all the families that came and enjoy this space together!

May we all carry a little of that pause, gratitude and connection with us these months to come!

Are you doing your Duke of Edinburgh's Silver or Bronze Award this year? Do you like to get your hands dirty, work outdoors with friends, learn about gardening? Are you still looking for a place to do your volunteering section? Do you like the idea of working outdoors with young people every now and then?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above, this might be interesting for you:

The Community Garden in Ross on Wye is running monthly gardening sessions for Duke of Edinburgh Students (Saturdays, 10-2). We are recruiting Volunteers:
