๐ช What a fantastic day at the Lockerley and East Dean Fete and Carnival Week! ๐ช
A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Saturday and helped make the fete such a success.
The Village Hall was delighted to be part of the day, from our Human Fruit Machine and popular Meat Raffle at the Lock Inn after party to simply seeing so many people enjoying themselves and spending time together as a community on Butts Green.
The Human Fruit Machine proved particularly popular with younger players, although we quickly discovered that many of them had absolutely no idea what a fruit machine was! ๐๐๐๐
Congratulations to everyone who won a prize, and especially to those lucky players who managed to hit the Jackpot! ๐ฐ๐ฐ
It was wonderful to see Butts Green so busy and to hear so many positive comments about the atmosphere and community spirit throughout the day.
A special thank you to The Farmers Butcher for supplying the fantastic prizes for the Meat Raffle, which proved extremely popular and helped raise valuable funds for the Village Hall and our upcoming roof project.
And the fun didnโt stop at 4pm. After a quick turnaround, The Lock Inn opened its doors at 6.30pm for the fete after-party. With country music, tables outside on a warm summer evening, and your favourite drinks being served by Rev James Pitkin (surely one of the more unusual sights of the day!), it was a lovely way to round off a fantastic community event.
Thank you to the fete organisers - especially Phil Webb, volunteers, stallholders and everyone who came. From the Hallโs perspective every pound raised helps us continue to look after and improve this much-loved community building.
We were also delighted that the Human Fruit Machine attracted interest from another local village fete, so it may well be making another appearance before too long!
If not, weโll be planning a comeback for next yearโs fete!
Thank you, Lockerley & East Dean. ๐
