π΄ Sleep Awareness & Healthy Sleep Habits π
Sleep is one of the most important things we can do for our physical and mental wellbeing, yet it's often the first thing we sacrifice when life gets busy.
A good night's sleep can help improve your mood, concentration, energy levels and overall health. If you're finding sleep difficult, remember that small changes to your routine can make a big difference over time.
Here are a few healthy sleep habits to try:
π Stick to a regular bedtime and wake-up time.
π± Switch off screens at least an hour before bed.
π Create a relaxing bedtime routine.
β Avoid caffeine and heavy meals late in the evening.
ποΈ Keep your bedroom cool, dark and comfortable.
π Read a book, listen to calming music or try gentle breathing exercises.
π Stay active during the day to help your body rest at night.
Remember, it's completely normal to have the occasional restless night. If you've been struggling with your sleep for a while, don't ignore it. Poor sleep can affect both your physical and mental health, and it's okay to ask for support.
Be kind to yourself. Rest isn't a luxury, t's essential. π
If you're finding things overwhelming or your mental health is affecting your sleep, please remember that you're not alone. Our volunteers are here to listen and support you whenever you need us.
