🌟 Volunteers’ Week 2026 🌟
This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the amazing volunteers who make 40th Rochdale Scout Group possible.
Every week, our volunteers give their time, energy, skills and enthusiasm to create opportunities, adventures and memories for our young people. From planning activities and running meetings to helping behind the scenes, our group simply could not exist without them.
40th Rochdale Scout Group was reopened in 2019 after being closed for more than 10 years due to a lack of volunteers. Thanks to the dedication of a small team, we have been able to grow and provide Scouting opportunities for local young people once again.
However, like many community organisations, we are feeling the pressure. Our current volunteers work incredibly hard, but we are stretched, and we urgently need more adults to join our team if we are to continue providing the high-quality programme our young people deserve.
You don’t need previous Scouting experience, special skills, or lots of spare time. Whether you can help every week, occasionally, behind the scenes, or with a specific skill, there is a role for everyone.
If you have ever thought about getting involved, now is the perfect time. Volunteering is a fantastic way to support your local community, learn new skills, make friends, and help shape the lives of young people.
