Weekly Men’s Evening Programme

Our weekly Men’s Evening Programme, delivered through BACP Health & Wellbeing and Cadent’s Warmth Centre, continues to provide a friendly and supportive space for men aged 40 and over.

This successful event was organised by our dedicated volunteers, Jayed Bhai and Aklasur Bhai, whose commitment, time, and hard work helped bring the community together for an enjoyable and meaningful evening.

More than 40 people attended this week’s session, taking part in carrom, socialising, and relaxing together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Community Chef Jayed Bhai prepared delicious and healthy snacks, available for £5.00 per person, which were enjoyed by all attendees.

Dr Khan, our Secretary, attended to provide medical information, health advice, and support, while our trustees were available to offer guidance on saving energy, Green Doctors, and Beyond the Meter services.

The evening was a great example of how our volunteers and community partners work together to support health, wellbeing, reduce social isolation, and create stronger community connections.

A big thank you to Jayed Bhai and Aklasur Bhai for organising and supporting this valuable weekly programme.

BACP LADIES’ GAMES NIGHT!

Ladies, you’re all warmly invited!

Come along to BACP for a fun-filled evening of laughter, games and great company!

Join us for a fantastic Ladies’ Games Night, where we’ll be playing Ludo and lots of other fun games!
Whether you’re competitive or just coming along for a laugh, there’s something for everyone.

The Monday men’s session differed slightly from the morning session, with attendees arriving over several hours.

Around 50 people, including staff, enjoyed the gathering and food. Volunteers helped serve the healthy meal, which Brother Aklasur kindly provided in memory of his late father. He also generously paid for the ingredients.

The health message focused on breast cancer awareness, emphasising that it can affect both women and men, and the importance of awareness, early detection, and seeking medical advice.

An environmental message reminded attendees of the impact of plastic water bottles and the importance of reducing plastic waste.

The session included socialising, games, food, and dua. Both Imams from Jalila Mosque attended and offered prayers and duas. It was a warm, positive gathering that promoted community, health awareness, environmental responsibility, support, and remembrance.

Duke of Edinburgh Practice Walk – A Big Thank You!

A big thank you to all our amazing DofE participants who joined us for today’s practice walk! 👏 It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, building their confidence, developing their skills and working together as a team.

A special thank you to all the parents who took the time to drop off their children and support them on their DofE journey. Your continued support and encouragement mean so much to us.

Every step is a step towards achieving something amazing!

🌧️☕ A Warm and Welcoming Day at BACP Men’s Session! 🎲
Despite the miserable rainy weather, the men at BACP are enjoying a warm, welcoming space and some lovely hot drinks. ☕❤️
The day started with a comforting warm drink and some light exercise, followed by an engaging board game session led by our wonderful volunteers. 🎲👏
Board games are more than just fun! They help stimulate the mind, improve hand-eye coordination, encourage teamwork, and keep both the mind and body active. 🧠💪
🍲 What’s cooking this afternoon?
For the afternoon session, the men will be trying their hands at cooking some hot food together. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, work as a team, and enjoy the warmth of good company.
We can’t wait to see what delicious dishes they come up with! 😋 Stay tuned to find out!
