Today's Men's Group was another great session, bringing together information, discussion, exercise, and friendly competition.
We were pleased to welcome Councillor Farooq, who delivered an informative talk on housing issues and also offered one-to-one chat sessions for members seeking advice and support.
The session began with a light social gathering, with plenty of conversation around today's England game, followed by gentle arm, wrist, and finger exercises to get everyone warmed up for the carrom board game.
The carrom matches were highly competitive, with lots of skill, laughter, and good-natured rivalry on display. A fantastic afternoon of learning, socialising, and staying active together.

Today, the BACP Rochdale team attended the Refugee Week Celebration at Rochdale Town Hall. It was inspiring to see so many organisations and community groups coming together to support refugees and asylum seekers.

Refugee Week is an opportunity to recognise the courage it takes to flee conflict, persecution, and hardship, while celebrating the strength, resilience, and valuable contributions of those who have found safety and belonging within our communities.

Led by volunteers Somera and Afia, the BACP team was present to offer information, support, and guidance on the services we provide. Through our work with the Centre of Warmth, BACP supports newly arrived migrants by providing health advice and information, as well as youth and older people’s services that help individuals and families settle into their communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and for continuing to promote inclusion, understanding, and solidarity.

Today at our DofE Bronze and Silver training session, we focused on developing our map skills by working on graphs and coordinates using OS maps, as well as practising symbol reading. To finish the session, we put our knowledge to the test with a fun game of symbol bingo!

What a fantastic week at Youth Club!

We had loads of fun taking part in a variety of activities, with plenty of laughter, teamwork, and creativity along the way. From games and challenges to arts, crafts, and group activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s always great to see our young people building friendships, trying new things, and making wonderful memories together.

A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who give their time, energy, and support each week. Your dedication helps make Youth Club a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable place for everyone, and we truly appreciate everything you do.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the week so special. We can’t wait to see you all again next week for more fun and exciting activities!

This week, our DofE Bronze and Silver participants have been developing essential expedition skills as they prepare for their upcoming adventures.

The groups focused on learning how to correctly pitch and pack away tents, working together to build confidence and teamwork in the outdoors. They also took part in map reading activities, learning how to identify features, understand map symbols, and navigate using grid references.

It was great to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another, and building the skills needed for a successful expedition. Well done to all participants for their enthusiasm and effort throughout the session!

This World Environment Day,

BACP celebrated with service users while highlighting the importance of protecting our environment and creating more sustainable communities.

We’re turning awareness into action through initiatives such as upgraded lighting, solar panel installations, and our Centre of Warmth programme, which provides practical advice on energy efficiency, reducing energy use, and lowering carbon emissions. These efforts help households save money while supporting a greener future.

BACP also proudly supports local environmental projects, including community clean-up initiatives that encourage residents and service users to care for their surroundings.

World Environment Day reminds us that protecting our planet is a shared responsibility—and that meaningful change happens when communities come together.
