🐾✨ SEPTEMBER, WE’RE READY FOR YOU! ✨🐾

We’ve got a VERY exciting month ahead at Pause With Paws CIC, and we can’t wait to get back out into the community doing what we love most… Bringing a little joy, connection and plenty of waggy tails wherever we go. 🐶💕

🏡 Tomorrow we’re back at Shardlow Village Hall for a home education group session, and we’re so excited for the session!

🏡 Wednesday we’re heading back to Sandiacre Court, one of our regular visits that we always look forward to. We’ve missed you! 🐾❤️

🏡 Thursday is a particularly exciting day because we’ll be making our first visit to a brand-new care home in Spondon, where we’ll be supporting residents with our dog-assisted wellbeing sessions. We absolutely cannot wait to meet everyone! 🥹🐶

And September doesn’t stop there…

🐾 We have dates booked at Long Eaton View, the very first care home that Pause With Paws ever supported. It feels incredibly special to be returning to where our journey began. ❤️

🐾 We’re also heading back to a Long Eaton Day Centre for the third time this year, and we’re so excited to see the service users again!

It’s honestly amazing to look back at how much Pause With Paws has grown and to see our little team of dogs continuing to make a difference in so many different settings. 🐶✨

📅 We do still have a bit of availability for September, but our diary is filling quickly!

🐾 Pause With Paws CIC is Growing – and We Need Your Help! 🐾

It’s time for me to admit that Pause With Paws has grown beyond what one person can safely manage alone. Alongside delivering sessions, I’m currently doing the phone calls, social media, risk assessments, invoices, insurance, admin and everything in between. All whilst trying to manage my own chronic illnesses.

I’m now looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic volunteer to join our team and help support our dog wellbeing sessions, as well as some behind-the-scenes tasks.

This would be a voluntary role initially, but I am passionate about providing training, experience and transferable skills that can support future employment or personal development. This could be a wonderful opportunity for someone interested in:
🐶 Animal-assisted wellbeing
💚 Mental health and community support
📋 Administration and social media
🤝 Building confidence and experience

Most importantly, I need support so that sessions can be delivered safely, we can help more people, and Pause With Paws can continue to grow.

🐾☀️ PAUSE WITH PAWS IS HAVING A LITTLE PAUSE ☀️🐾

With the current heatwave and temperatures soaring, we’ve made the decision to temporarily pause our dog-assisted wellbeing sessions and activities.

As much as our pawsitive team love seeing everyone, our dogs’ welfare has to come first. 🐶❤️ Travelling, working and being active in these temperatures simply isn’t fair on them, so we’d much rather take a little break and keep them safe, happy and comfortable.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the weather and will be back as soon as temperatures are safe for our four-legged team to return. 🐾

Thank you so much for your understanding and for always supporting Pause With Paws. We promise it won’t be long before the tails are wagging again! 🥰

In the meantime, stay safe, stay hydrated and keep those paws cool! ☀️💦🐾

✨ Six Months of Pause With Paws 🐾

Six months ago, Pause With Paws was just an idea.

An idea built from lived experience.
A belief that people deserve a safe space to pause, to breathe, to feel seen, and to experience the incredible comfort animals can bring.

Today, six months later, I’m sitting here feeling incredibly grateful.

In those six months we’ve:
🐾 Supported people of all ages with their wellbeing.
🐾 Worked alongside schools, community groups and care settings.
🐾 Shared countless cuddles, smiles and conversations.
🐾 Watched confidence grow, anxiety soften and connections flourish.
🐾 Built a community that believes kindness really can change lives.
🐾 Collaborated with other small businesses.

There have been challenges too. Running a community interest company isn’t always easy, especially while navigating my own disabilities. But every smile, every thank you, every person who has left saying they feel lighter reminds me exactly why we started.

To everyone who has attended a session, booked us, volunteered, donated, shared our posts or simply believed in our vision…

Thank you.

You are part of this journey too.

This is only Chapter One. We have so many exciting plans for the future, and I can’t wait to continue growing a community where both people and animals can make a difference together.

Here’s to the next six months. 💚🐶

This week we made the difficult decision to cancel all of our visits…

Not because we wanted to.
Because it was the right thing to do.

Our dogs are at the heart of everything we do, and their welfare will always come before our diary, our bookings or our income.

Even short car journeys can become dangerous in extreme temperatures. Dogs don’t cool themselves like we do, and travelling, working or even getting excited in a heatwave can quickly put them at risk of heat-related illness.

Puppies are especially vulnerable. They have a harder time regulating their body temperature and can become overheated much more quickly than healthy adult dogs.

There simply wasn’t a safe way for or any of our dogs to visit this week.

A huge shout out to every dog walker, groomer, trainer, daycare, pet sitter, therapy dog team and other dog-focused business that chose to lose income rather than put dogs at unnecessary risk.

We know cancelled appointments affect our businesses, but no booking is worth compromising an animal’s welfare.

Thank you to every client who has been so understanding. Your kindness means the world, and we’ll be back as soon as the weather allows us to do so safely.

Please keep your dogs cool, provide plenty of fresh water, avoid walking during the hottest parts of the day, and remember: if it’s too hot for you, it’s probably too hot for them too. 🐾❤️
