“AI - Friend or Foe? Look Beyond the Hype.” That’s what Stuart Ward will be talking to us about at our next meeting on 1st April at 7:15pm in the Mechanics. We are pleased that Stuart is making a return visit to us, after a very interesting talk from him not very long ago on a completely different subject. Stuart worked in IT for 40 years, so I am sure it will be a most informative evening. If you would like to join our WI so you can hear some of our great speakers, please let me know and you are welcome to attend this meeting.

Our March meeting will be on Wed 7th at 7:15pm in the Mechanics. We are having a flower arranging demonstration by Rosemary and Twine of Leyburn. I’m sure you have noticed the beautiful displays in the window if you are visiting the town. Please come along if you would like to join our WI, but please let us know you are coming.

Our postponed February meeting is on tomorrow afternoon in The Mechanics at 3pm to 5pm. If you are free and are thinking of joining our WI, please come along and join us to hear Phil and Patrice Lythe tell us about their adventures in Kiwiland.

The post I shared recently has disappeared into the ether, so I am posting again. Just to say that our WI meeting which was due to happen tomorrow evening, Wednesday at 7:15pm, has been postoned till Wednesday 11th February at 3pm. If you were intending to come, we look forward to seeing you then.

The next WI meeting has been postponed. Our meeting this month would have been on 4th February, but it has now been postponed to Wednesday 11th at 3pm, when Patrice and Phil Lythe will be telling us about their adventures in Kiwiland. So please note the new time and date if you intend to come along. We look forward to seeing you then.

Our next meeting will be on Wed 7th January at 2pm in the Mechanics. We are having a Social afternoon- there will be time to chat, so a good meeting to attend if you’d like to test the water and find out about our WI. Our programme for 2026 is also now available. But there is more than just our monthly meetings, we also have small groups (all members welcome) who meet monthly for Short Walks, Scrabble, Ladies who Lunch and Film club. We also often get together with other local WIs for events. So if you’d like to find out more, please come along on 7th, but please send a message so we know you are coming.

Our next meeting will be on Wed 5th November at 7:15pm in the Mechanics. This month we are very pleased that local artist Ian Scott Massie will paint a watercolour for us as we watch. You may have seen some of Ian’s paintings in Masham Art Gallery. We have a mix of social events and speakers at our meetings - a very friendly group of ladies. If you would like to try out our WI you are welcome to come along. Just send us a message.

Yes, Yorkshire Air Ambulance came to Kirkby! This time they didn’t come in a helicopter, but they sent a super speaker who told us all about the work that this great charity has been doing since 2025 in this area.
Our next WI meeting is on 1st October at 7:15pm at the Mechanics and is our AGM.
Find out what else we have been doing and who we are! And there will be time to relax and have a chat.

Our next meeting will be on Wed 3rd September at 7:15pm in the Mechanics. We are pleased that The Yorkshire Air Ambulance have agreed to come and tell us about their work. I know many of you will have heard interesting stories about incidents they have attended locally. If you would like to join our WI so you can hear some of our great speakers, please let me know and you are welcome to attend this meeting.
