Supporting the recovery of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and veterans through confidence building golf activities and opportunities for employment in the industry. On Course Foundation (OCF) provides long-term benefits for wounded, injured and sick (WIS) Servicemen, women and veterans through monthly, nationwide, golf skills and employment training events. We recognise the unique position of golf as one of the few sports where players of all skills and experience, and of all physical abilities, can play together on a level playing field because of the official golf handicap system. Golf offers WIS Servicemen, women and veterans a sporting challenge not easily possible in other sports and, for those leaving the Services, the golf industry offers a wide range of attractive employment opportunities.

What a great experience for new beneficiary Archie Banham, who has recently undertaken a two-day greenkeeping and workshop operations insight at Wentworth Golf Club.

He wss able to do this alongside fellow beneficiaries Dave Hughes and Matt Arnold who are part of the greenkeeping team at this prestigious club.

Archie is still serving with REME, however, he is due to be discharged in the New Year and is currently assessing his career options.

We are very sad to bring you the news that much loved beneficiary Ges Almond has passed away after a recent illness.

Ges joined OCF in 2014 and was such a loveable character, bringing so much energy to every event that he attended. He continued to check-in with beneficiaries outside of our programme, helping them with their on-going recovery. What a man. He will be missed.

All at OCF send their love and condolences to his family. ❤️

This week, we visited the incredible facilities at SGGT for a masterclass on club building and fitting. Scott and his team have so much passion for what they do and they provided a great insight into their process, as well as pathways to a potential career.

We finished the day with a round Swanston Golf Club.

Thank you all for your time and generosity.

A big thank you to Abridge GolfClub and their member Peter Knight of Alisped UK Ltd, who hosted our Golf Skills Day in Essex this week.

Thanks again for supporting our programme. We hope that you had a great day alongside our beneficiaries.

As part of the The Invictus Games Foundation Beyond the Games programme, we recently delivered a 5-day Wounded Veterans Golf Adventure for 16 Dutch, Belgian and German participants.

Using the incredible practice facilities Golf Amsteldijk, we also visited Golfclub Zeegersloot and Golfclub Heelsum as part of the anniversary of Operation Market Garden.

Including a mix of abilities, it was a fantastic week of learning and camaraderie - both on and off the course.

Based on it's success, there is now a platform for the veterans here to set up their own Foundation and to continue their recovery through golf journey.

Congratulations to beneficiary Paul Bennett, our most recent winner of the OCF Championship, which was held Wishaw Golf Club in the West Midlands.

Other winners included Martin Adams (category 1) and Karl Horvath (category 2).

There was some fantastic golf played throughout and it's great to see the progress that our beneficiaries have made throughout our summer programme.

Well done to all our winners. 👊

A huge thank you to Kinross Golf Courses for hosting one of our recent 2-day Golf Skills and Employment Courses. Autumn has arrived as we experienced sun, rain and wind, but the golf courses held up and were in fantastic condition.

A more personal thanks to PGA Professional Greig McSporran and Jane Carmichael for their generosity. We look forward to returning in 2027.
