Supporting the recovery of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and veterans through confidence building golf activities and opportunities for employment in the industry. On Course Foundation (OCF) provides long-term benefits for wounded, injured and sick (WIS) Servicemen, women and veterans through monthly, nationwide, golf skills and employment training events. We recognise the unique pos

ition of golf as one of the few sports where players of all skills and experience, and of all physical abilities, can play together on a level playing field because of the official golf handicap system. Golf offers WIS Servicemen, women and veterans a sporting challenge not easily possible in other sports and, for those leaving the Services, the golf industry offers a wide range of attractive employment opportunities.

We returned to Titleist UK & Ireland HQ as part of an Employment Insight Day to learn about their role in the golf industry, including manufacturing and the fitting process.

Thank you to all of the staff who took the time to host us for the day.

We were thrilled to deliver our first ever Scottish Championship at Peebles Golf Club, with 29 beneficiaries competing for various individual and team prizes.

As always, the golf club could not have been more welcome. A huge thank you to our starter David and Secretary Stuart, as well as Captain and Vice-Captain, Denise and Henry. Without your support this would not have been possible.

Congratulations to our individual winners:

Category 1 - James Long

Category 2 - Anthony Duff

At the beginning of May, 10 UK based beneficiaries joined their counterparts On Course Foundation for a Warm Weather Training Week at Marriott Golf Academy and Grande Vista Golf Club.

Once again, it was an incredible week of coaching, golf, employment insight and camaraderie in the Orlando sun.

We recently delivered two Golf Skills Days supporting both our beneficiaries and the wider armed forces community, including this week at Kingsfield Golf & Leisure.

This included sons, granddaughters, spouses, fathers-in-laws and friends - all of whom have been part of our beneficiaries recovery at some stage.

‘’It has to go down as my favourite event. Being able to bring my son along to experience the same feel-good factor that I get has been fantastic.’’

OCF beneficiary and double above-knee amputee Hari Budha Magar completes mission to become the first to climb the the highest peaks on all seven continents. INSPIRATIONAL. 👊

“If you have a dream and dedicate yourself and never give up, you can achieve anything - whatever life throws at you. Thank you to my team, family, friends, community, charities, sponsors and supporters. This wouldn’t happen without them.

“We have shown that nothing is impossible and made awareness of disability inspiring others to climb their own mountains and conquer their dreams whatever that might be.

“Changing perceptions of disability will not happen overnight. I am now dedicating my life to this mission, showing that with support, adaptation, perseverance people with disabilities can accomplish the impossible!

“Please help me to make awareness of disability around the world, this message should go to every person with disability, their loved ones, society and authorities.”

OCF are one of five charities that Hari is raising money for and you can donate by clicking on the picture below.
