🎄 Give the Gift of Fresh, Local Veg This Christmas. December is at our doorstep, bringing with it our final, extra special, Llysh Bocs of the year! 🎄

This year’s bocs totally sleighs (🦌), as it’s packed with delicious, in-season produce perfect for your festive feasts. All the veg is grown right here, in the UK, and harvested sustainably through regenerative agriculture, supporting local growers and the environment.

✨ Our one-off Christmas bocs is £17, but here’s the best part – you can choose to round up to £20 and help us donate a bocs to someone in need in our local community! ✨

Last year we piloted the scheme and, thanks to your generosity, we gifted 40 boxes to people in need in the community. This year, we are thrilled to be supporting Taff-Ely Foodbank and all the wonderful work they do year-round. For every customer who rounds up, we’ll donate a bocs.

New data shows that over 1 in 10 (11%) in the UK are experiencing food insecurity, rising to 1 in 7 (15%) for households with children. Of all food insecure households, 50% have reported cutting back on vegetables because they were worried about money.¹ By purchasing our Christmas Llysh Bocs, you're not just getting fresh, healthy produce – you're also helping to increase other people’s access to it.

The Christmas Llysh Bocs will be delivered on Monday 22nd December, just in time for your Christmas tea preparations, instead of the standard Llysh Bocs on Friday 19th December. As ever, we’re offering free delivery within RCT, and this year’s bocs will contain a complimentary printed community cookbook. A little gift from us to you. 🎁

If you’d like to make this festive season a little brighter for all, please place your orders by 5.30pm on Tuesday 16th December. We are asking our customers to please complete the following short order form, rather than messaging us on this occasion:

🎉 Yn dathlu Lleoedd Bwyd Cynaliadwy arobryn Cymru!

Yng Nghynhadledd Gwir Fwyd a Ffermio Cymru, mewn cydweithrediad â Synnwyr Bwyd Cymru, cafodd saith partneriaeth eu cydnabod am eu harweinyddiaeth wrth adeiladu systemau bwyd lleol iach a chynaliadwy.

🌟 Mae Partneriaeth Bwyd RhCT yn disgleirio gyda Gwobr A***n!

Rydym mor falch o fod wedi ennill gwobr A***n Lleoedd Bwyd Cynaliadwy. Fe'i cyflwynwyd i ni gan Derek Walker, Comisiynydd Cenedlaethau'r Dyfodol Cymru yn ystod seremoni yng Nghynhadledd Gwir Fwyd a Ffermio Cymru:

“Mae ein cymunedau yng Nghymru yn wynebu lefelau digynsail o ddiffyg diogeled bwyd a salwch sy’n ymwneud â deiet - ac mae’n mynd i gymryd ymdrech ar y cyd ar lefel gymunedol a chenedlaethol i wella ein system fwyd. Mae partneriaethau bwyd lleol yng Nghymru yn cael effaith fawr - mae eu ffocws cymunedol a’u dulliau arloesol yn rhoi bwyd ar y bwrdd i’r rhai sydd ei angen fwyaf ac maent yn profi y gallwn dyfu mwy o fwyd lleol yng Nghymru sy’n llesol i bobl ac i’r blaned.”

Diolch yn fawr iawn i'n holl gydweithwyr, partneriaid a chefnogwyr!

"Mae'n bleser mawr gallu derbyn y wobr hon sy'n dangos y gwaith y mae'r Bartneriaeth wedi'i wneud dros y ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf, gan dynnu sylw at y ffaith bod gwaith partneriaeth yn fwy na chyfanswm ei rannau yn unig." - Rhiannon Edwards, Cydlynydd Bwyd Cynaliadwy, Partneriaeth Bwyd RhCT

🎉 Celebrating Wales’ award-winning Sustainable Food Places!

At the Wales Real Food and Farming Conference, in collaboration with Food Sense Wales / Synnwyr Bwyd Cymru, seven partnerships were recognised for their leadership in building healthy and sustainable local food systems.

🌟 RCT Food Partnership shines with a Silver Award!

We’re so pleased to have won a Silver Sustainable Food Places award. It was presented to us by Derek Walker, the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, during a ceremony at the Wales Real Food & Farming Conference:

“Our communities in Wales are facing unprecedented levels of food insecurity and diet related ill-health – and it’s going to take a collective effort at community, local and national level to fix our food system. Local food partnerships in Wales are making a big impact – their community focus and innovations are putting food on the table for those who need it most, and they are proving that we can grow more local food in Wales that is good for people and the planet.”

A huge thank you to all of our colleagues, partners and supporters!

"It's such a pleasure to be able to receive this award, which demonstrates the work that the Partnership has undertaken over the past 2 years, really highlighting that partnership work is more than just the sum of its parts." - Rhiannon Edwards, Sustainable Food Coordinator, RCT Food Partnership

Following the success of the first RCT Food Partnership Co-operative Workshop, we will be holding the second on Tuesday 11th November, 10am – 2pm, in Shelley Hall, YMa Pontypridd. You don't need to have attended the first to join us at the second!

Together, we will explore ways to collaborate on creating sustainable food projects that address food systems change and utilise funding in innovative ways.

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCTCBC) want to work in true collaboration with our communities, and, in the spirit of true co-production, the RCT Food Partnership will decide how to use funding to create food systems change in RCT:

Lunch will be provided, please see the event FAQs for any accessibility or dietary queries.

(If you know of any community members who may not work within food networks, but would have valued input, please forward the invite to them. We know time is valuable, so if cost, or transportation, is a barrier to their attendance, please ask them to contact us directly, as we have some discretionary allowance for this.)
