🐿️🌟 SQUIRRELS TEAM BUILDING FUN! 🌟🐿️

This week our Squirrels got stuck into some fantastic team-building activities! 💪🌳

The Squirrels took on an assault course with a twist… 🙈 They were blindfolded and had to rely on their partner’s instructions to guide them safely around the course! 👣🗣️

There were lots of listening, communication, trust and teamwork involved, and our Squirrels absolutely smashed it! 🙌👏 Every single Squirrel managed to complete the course, showing just how brilliant they are at working together! 💚🐿️

🏆 SQUIRREL OF THE WEEK! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Luan, who was awarded Squirrel of the Week! 🎉👏 Well done, Luan! We can’t wait to hear what adventures you and Nutkin get up to this week! 🐿️💚

Well done to all our Squirrels for a fantastic week of teamwork, encouragement and fun! 🌟

Cubs have been working hard towards their Skills Challenge badge the past 2 weeks!

They have learned about exercise, the human body and healthy eating 🏃🫁🍎.

Had a go at a new sport with archery 🎯.

Learned lots of life skills such as
- ironing 👕
- rolling their knecker
- making a cup of tea ☕
- measuring and hammering 🔨
- changing a light bulb 💡
- making a spreadsheet and how to budget their pocket money 💻💷

Well done to all those ticking off lots of parts of the badge!

🎃👻 A Spooktacular Night at Squirrels! 👻🎃

Tonight our Squirrels got into the Halloween spirit with a fang-tastic evening of fun! 🕷️🎃💀

We split into three spooky teams — 🕷️ Spiders, 🎃 Pumpkins & 💀 Skeletons — and the competition was on!

Our Squirrels got creative painting pottery and sun catchers, then tested their skills with Halloween bingo and the wonderfully chaotic Spider Splat! 🕷️💥

And because apparently Spider Splat wasn’t quite enough excitement… we even managed to get a spider stuck to the ceiling! 🕷️⬆️😂 We’re still not entirely sure whether that was part of the game or a new Halloween decoration! 🎃🤣

🏆 A huge well done to Team Spiders, who took the win! And a special congratulations to Jude, our highest scorer of the night! 🌟👏

⭐ Squirrel of the Week ⭐
A big congratulations to Thomas! 🥳 We’re looking forward to hearing all about what you and Nutkin get up to this week! 🐿️❤️

Well done to all our Squirrels for getting stuck in, having fun and showing fantastic team spirit. You were all spook-tacular! 👻🎃🕷️💀

🐿️🚀 WHAT A SQUIRRELY SPACE ADVENTURE! 🌙⭐️

Tonight was another fantastic night with our Squirrels! 🐿️💚

We were super excited to welcome Sean, our District Lead, who came along to visit us and presented our VERY FIRST SQUIRREL FLAG! 🎉🏳️🐿️

We are incredibly proud of our new flag and can’t wait to show it off wherever our Squirrels adventures take us! 💚👏

🚀🌎 TO INFINITY AND BEYOND! 🌎🚀
We continued our space adventure this evening, learning all about space and our solar system. The children even brought themselves home as astronauts after designing and creating their very own space suits! 👨‍🚀👩‍🚀✨

Then it was time for some out-of-this-world games! 🌙⭐️

🪂 Blast Off Parachute Game – lots of fun, teamwork and plenty of launching into space! 🚀

👽 Space Stations – our Squirrels showed off their best moon walking, alien walking and amazing star moves! 🌟🕺👽

And finally, a HUGE SQUIRRELY SHOUT-OUT to our Squirrel of the Week — BENJI! 🐿️🏆💚

🎉 Congratulations, Benji! 🎉
We hope you have a brilliant week with Nutkin 🐿️ and we can’t wait to hear all about the adventures you get up to together!

What a brilliant evening, Squirrels! 🌙🚀⭐️
Keep exploring, keep learning and keep being amazing! 🐿️

🪐 Space the final frontier 🪐

This week at scouts we talked about different planets in our solar system 🪐

The scouts then made planets using rice and ballons

We coloured our own planets 🌍 and talked about what it would be like to live there.

Finally we finished the night with a hypothesis of which object would move quicker, a ball with earths gravity or a ball with the moons gravity.
We swapped out the ball for a spare balloon 🎈 to simulate the moons gravity and carried out the experiment.

The ball won and showed the scouts how hard it is to do any thing on the moon 🌙

🚒🔥 What an incredible evening at Loftus Fire Station! 🔥🚒

Tonight our Squirrels had an absolutely fantastic visit to Loftus Fire Station and what an action-packed evening it was! 🐿️❤️

The Squirrels started the evening by watching a fire safety video and then got involved in a mock house fire reenactment, learning what to do and how to stay safe if they ever found themselves in a house fire. 🏠🔥

Then it was outside to explore the fire engine! 🚒 The Squirrels took part in a brilliant teamwork challenge, working together to see which team could fill their buckets with water the quickest! 💦🏆

And the fun didn’t stop there… they got to:
👨‍🚒 Try on real firefighter uniform
💦 Have a go with the water hose
🚒 Explore the fire engine inside
🤝 Work together as a team
🔥 Learn some really important fire safety skills

There were plenty of smiles, lots of excitement and some very enthusiastic future firefighters! 🐿️👨‍🚒❤️

A HUGE thank you to all the amazing firefighters at Loftus Fire Station for welcoming our Squirrels, teaching them so much and giving them such a memorable evening.

We all had the BEST time! 🚒🔥

Scouts has retuned for the autumn term

This term we have a few new starters so we played a getting to know you game and tried to catch the last of the sun with a game of staffy before the nights draw in.

Wow what a day we had yesterday!
The Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all attended the Cleveland County Scouts fun day at Ravengill campsite.

A very busy day that included archery, air r***e shooting, laser tag, circus skills, obstacle course, nerf wars, blind trail, cave bus, Police, RNLI, drumming, pyrography, axe throwing, crazy golf and much much more!

Everybody had a really good time and I think there were a few early nights needed last night (that was just the leaders!)

(Post number 1 - so many activities meant so many pictures!)

🐿️🌟 Squirrels are back! 🌟🐿️

What a fantastic first session back tonight! We had lots of fun, creativity and plenty of big emotions! 💛

A very warm welcome to Alfie, who joined us for his very first Squirrels session! 🐿️👏 It was lovely to see you settling in and getting involved.

🎨 We started by colouring some of our favourite characters from Inside Out, before settling down to listen to The Grumpy Old Stone story… and goodness me, he really was VERY grumpy! 🪨😠

Inspired by the story, our Squirrels then got creative and designed their very own emotion stones, each showing their own unique and imaginative emotion. 🎨🪨😊😡😴🤩

We then played the parachute game Cat and Mouse — what fun we had! 🐱🐭🌈

🏆 Squirrel of the Week 🏆
A huge well done to Alfie for his amazing interaction during his very first session! 👏🌟 What a brilliant start!

We hope you enjoy your week of adventures with Nutkin, Alfie! 🐿️💚

Well done to all our Squirrels for a fantastic first night back — we can’t wait to see what adventures are waiting for us next! 🌳✨
