The Amy Robinson Foundation

The Amy Robinson Foundation It is founded in memory of our beautiful Amy who died suddenly and unexpectedly, aged 3 years old. Amy was the centre of our world.

๐Ÿ’™ Who we are ๐Ÿ’™
The Amy Robinson Foundation is a charitable trust which aims to improve the lives of young people and support families affected by child bereavement. We want the foundation to create a lasting positive legacy for Amy, remembering the little girl we all love so much.

๐Ÿ’™ What we do ๐Ÿ’™
The Amy Robinson Foundation awards grants to individuals, charities and community organisations that s

upport the foundation's aims. We have previously awarded grants to Child Bereavement UK, The Compassionate Friends, Riding for the Disabled and SUDC UK.

๐Ÿ’™ Our focus for 2024 ๐Ÿ’™
In 2024 the foundation will focus on raising funds for SUDC UK, a charity which is dedicated to increasing awareness of sudden unexplained deaths in childhood and funding crucial research into the causes and prevention of SUDC. Over 40 children in England and Wales die every year without reason and SUDC UK advocates for the needs of families like ours affected by these tragedies. We are also looking to start to award grants to families who need counselling support following bereavement, we will keep you up to date on the progress of this.

๐Ÿ’™ Fundraising ๐Ÿ’™
We have supporters participating in running events, hosting open gardens, running bake sales, art fairs and lots of other fun events. Thank you to everyone who has fundraised for the foundation and to everyone who has generously donated.

We recently met with Victoria Collins MP to explore new ways to raise awareness of the charityโ€™s therapy grants programme through local primary care networks. Victoria will also be lending her support to our work with SUDC UK and advocating for a coordinated national plan for Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) with the government.

We are very grateful for Victoriaโ€™s commitment to these causes and in helping to ensure Amyโ€™s legacy brings hope and support to other bereaved families ๐Ÿ’™

Such poignant words ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

Our therapy grants support bereaved siblings as they navigate their grief, honour the memory of their brother or sister and find a way forward, carrying their much loved sibling with them always.

https://amyrobinsonfoundation.org/therapy-grants-2/

Today, on National Siblings Day, we hold space for a group whose grief is often unseenโ€ฆ bereaved siblings.

For every baby or child who dies, there are brothers and sisters whose world changes forever too.

They may not always have the words.
They may grieve quietly.
They may carry confusion, sadness, and questions that are hard to answer.

But their grief matters.

At 4Louis, we recognise that sibling loss is lifelong. It deserves acknowledgement, support, and understanding.

To every bereaved sibling, your love is real, your bond is unbreakable, and your feelings are valid ๐Ÿ’›

Today is SUDC Awareeness today and next week is the second ever Westminster Hall debate on Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. This is to push for a national plan and dedicated resources and response to SUDC.

The sun is shining today in memory of Amy and all the beautiful children affected by SUDC. Always remembered and their legacy lives on in their families and the amazing work of SUDC UK.

Thank you to everyone who continues to help us raise awareness and fundraise for this important cause ๐Ÿ’™โญ

Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood is the unexpected death of a child aged between 1-18 years that remains unexplained. Around 40 children are affected every year in the UK, comparable to 1-2 seemingly healthy children dying every fortnight, often going to sleep and never waking up. SUDC UK is a registered charity dedicated to awareness, research and family support.โ
โ
The sudden unexplained death of a child is one of the most under recognised medical tragedies of our time. โ

๐Ÿ’™ Supporting Families ๐Ÿ’™

Our therapy grants programme helps parents and children access support after the devastating loss of a child or sibling.

Getting the right professional help at the right time is so important in finding a way to navigate grief and trauma. These quotes show the impact your support is making to families. Thank you ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™
