Yesterday, we attended the Mayor Making ceremony at the Concert Hall to welcome the new Mayor, Councillor Paul Gittings. During the ceremony, it was announced that RSG has been chosen as one of the Mayor’s official charities for the year. 💚 💚 😊

We are honoured and grateful to have been selected. As Mayor Gittings said in his speech, “Reading has proudly been a City of Sanctuary since 2015,” and we couldn’t agree more. For over 30 years, RSG has proudly supported people seeking sanctuary as they rebuild their lives as part of Reading’s welcoming community.

We look forward to working with the Mayor and the mayoral team over the coming year. 💚

Last Saturday at the Sanctuary Fair, we gathered messages for sanctuary seekers, aligning with the Million Acts of Hope initiative. More importantly, we made sure these messages were seen by the people they were meant for.

To everyone who stopped by our table: thank you. In the current social climate, your words send a clear, powerful message to our clients; you are seen and you are valued.

We are so grateful for this community. Thank you for caring.
