๐ŸŒŸ IAHV London Hosts Prison Program Director Giorgio Minnecci ๐ŸŒŸ

We were honoured to welcome Giorgio Minnecci, IAHVโ€™s Prison Program Director from Italy, for a deeply inspiring session at the IAHV London Centre. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโœจ

With 21 years of experience teaching in prisons, Giorgio moved all 11 attendees with heartfelt storytelling and profound insights from his time working with inmates โ€“ including many mafia bosses across Italy. In fact, in some regions, the IAHV prison intervention program is now mandatory for all inmates. ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Key takeaways from Giorgioโ€™s sharing:

๐Ÿ’› Commitment, respect and friendship are often more alive inside prison walls than outside.

โœจ After stress and trauma are removed, people are fundamentally good โ€“ divinity exists in everyone.

๐Ÿšซ Teaching in prisons taught him to stop judging people โ€“ and to see beyond their past.

In addition to the stories, Giorgio guided a powerful process to help transform fears โ€“ leaving our volunteers feeling more hopeful, empathetic, and deeply grateful. ๐ŸŒˆ

The group also explored strategies to bring this impactful program to more British prisons. IAHVโ€™s prison courses have previously been successfully delivered in:

HMP Thameside

Guernsey

Doncaster

Southdown

Both prisons in Northern Ireland

Yoga and Breath-work have the amazing ability to create a psychosocial shift in the people and in communities! They can relieve stress/ trauma and also foster a sense of peace, belongingness, compassion and solidarity in the society.

Creating Inner Calm in Challenging Roles

IAHV had the honour to conduct a session for the middle and senior management teams at the Office of the Domestic Abuse Commissioner for England and Wales.

Led by IAHV Trustee and senior international faculty Puja Handa, the session included breathwork and guided meditationโ€”practical tools to support inner calm and resilience in emotionally demanding roles. Participants shared they felt relaxed, grounded, and open to future sessions for their wider teams.

Special thanks to Subhaluxmi Mukerji for making this opportunity possible, and to our intern Sienna Bassi for her presence and support.

At IAHV, we remain committed to the mental wellbeing of frontline professionals and civil servants and welcome more opportunities to collaborate with institutions across the UK.

Letโ€™s build a more resilient public sector together.

๐ŸŒธ On April 5th, our IAHV Pavitra UK team hosted a heartwarming event at Om Nom restaurant, weaving together Laughter Yoga, timeless wisdom, and reflective dialogue on the important topic of menstrual health. ๐ŸŒธ

Together, our vibrant volunteers raised ยฃ356 to support Pavitra workshops for adolescent girls in African schools, helping empower young lives through awareness and dignity.

Guests enjoyed a soul-nourishing saatvik dinner and shared in a space filled with joy, connection, and purpose.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The evening sparked powerful reflections:

โ€œI think Iโ€™m so inspired and driven to take this project โ€” and especially womenโ€™s health โ€” to the forefront of the UK audience!โ€ โ€“ Aditi Jain Pancholi

Other attendees described the night as joyful, moving, deeply connecting, and full of purpose.

A huge thank you to our passionate volunteer team โ€” Seema Bhatia, Aditi Jain Pancholi, Dr. Payal Mehta, Ranjana Siva, and Shalini Berry โ€” whose dedication made this event so impactful. The team is already feeling inspired to plan the next one!

โœจ Letโ€™s keep building awareness and creating safe, empowered spaces for conversations around menstrual health.

๐ŸŒโœจ IAHV at COP29: Climate Action Meets Mental Health

We are proud to share that IAHV was represented at UN Climate Change Conference COP29 in Baku by our international delegates, Shailen Mittal, alongside global leaders like Mr. Darshak Hathi (Global President of IAHV), Mr. Kanan Mammadov (Country Coordinator & Director of Art of Living, Azerbaijan)

The conference marked a significant milestone early on with the agreement on Article 6 rules of carbon trading. Shailen, as a board member and climate specialist from IAHV UK, went live to explain Articles 6.2 and 6.4 to our global audience.

An interesting conversation was with IDEA Campaign led by Her Excellency Leyla Aliyeva the daughter of His Excellency President of Azerbaijan, for mental health interventions for School teachers, prison inmates and staff. COP29 also opened new opportunities and sustainable finance/income pathways for our Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP) in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. Additionally, we had promising conversations with Ecuador about harnessing solar energy to create local employment.

Mental health is increasingly recognized as essential to climate action, and IAHV remains committed to integrating these priorities for a sustainable and resilient future. IAHV delegates also had the opportunity to network for collaboration with Youth Leaders like , Founder of Open Dialogues International Foundation, also representing from YOUNGO, Isatis Mariรฉ Cintrรณn Rodrรญguez from Citizens Climate International. Shout out to Youth leaders like Nana and Lord from Urban Better driving the cause of Air Polution with Innovative Solutions.

We were grateful to have the support of the The Art of Living local chapter in The Art of Living Azerbaijan Baku, especially to volunteers Aydan, Anna Litvak and Senior Faculty Lena for their invaluable support and kindness - they made us feel at home in the beautiful country that Azerbaijan is.

๐ŸŒ Youth Leadership at the UN Forum on Business & Human Rights ๐ŸŒ

Our incredible delegates Sienna Bassi and Julia Angold had a transformational experience at the 13th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights in November 2024! ๐Ÿ™Œโœจ Can you spot them in the picture from the top? (one with 40+ screens)

These two young change-makers, representing Youth2030.org and IAHV, were empowered to engage with global leaders, business heads and policy makers, gaining insight into complex global issues while sharing their own voices.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Sienna Bassi (IAHV UK Intern):
"Engaging with Human Rights victims and activists at UNOG re-ignited my drive to join the fight for climate and social justice! There is so much movement happening and so much more needed at the same time and Iโ€™m honoured to be part of the journey."

๐Ÿ’ฌ Julia Angold (Art of Living Foundation, Germany):
"Attending the 13th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights was a groundbreaking experience! Sitting at the same table with international stakeholders, gaining insight into issues of global importance and knowing that I had a voice as much as they did felt empowering beyond words๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™."

At Youth2030.org, we are proud to mentor high-potential youth like Sienna and Julia, empowering them to be tomorrow's leaders, solving today's complex challenges. ๐ŸŒฑ

As Mr. Werner Luedemann, our Senior Founding member and Mentor of mentors, reminds us:
"Youth are the backbone of nations and critical agents of change. They are at the heart of creating a better future for all."
