At the Christmas Lights Switch On in Randalstown tonight
We have done this every year since 2018 and tonight was the wettest Christmas Light Switch On we have experienced
I must pay tribute to the locals who gave it great support

Oh, deer!
Forget kale chips or massaged kale salad - our local herd prefers their kale right off the stalk. 😞

BREAKING: Dolly Parton STUNS THE WORLD — Turns Down Elon Musk’s $500 Million Offer With Just Five Words.

It was the kind of offer designed to rewrite headlines and history — $500 million from Elon Musk for Dolly Parton to become the global face of Tesla’s new clean-energy initiative.

A crossover partnership.
A cultural earthquake.
A half-billion-dollar deal ready to sign.

But Dolly Parton didn’t blink.

In a move that stunned Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and the entire entertainment world, the country-music icon politely — but firmly — rejected the offer, turning down not only the money but the enormous influence and global branding power tied to Musk’s proposal.

Her response?
Just five words that the internet is already engraving into legend:

“My goodness, that’s not me.”

Those five words have detonated across social media — a shockwave hitting tech forums, newsrooms, and fan communities worldwide.
Supporters call it the most defining stand of her career: a refusal to be reshaped, repackaged, or rebranded for billionaire ambitions.

Because for Dolly Parton — a woman who has built an empire on authenticity, humility, faith, and staying true to her roots — the decision wasn’t about money.

It was about identity.
It was about integrity.
It was about knowing exactly who she is — and who she will never pretend to be.

And overnight, Dolly Parton has become something no corporation, no billionaire, no marketing campaign can ever manufacture:

A symbol of an artist whose soul cannot be bought.

Judi Dench has her own “secret woodland” on her six-acre property in Surrey — and it’s more than just a garden.

For decades, she’s planted a tree every time someone she loves passes away, turning the grove into a living memorial. She even planted one for her husband, actor Michael Williams, after he died in 2001.

In the 2017 BBC documentary Judi Dench: My Passion for Trees, she said these trees feel like part of her “extended family,” a place where memories can keep growing.

A beautiful reminder that even in loss, something meaningful can grow.

In New Zealand, children are growing more than gardens; they’re growing kindness. Through programs like Garden to Table and Ōke, over 34,000 students plant, harvest, and cook fresh produce, learning sustainability and compassion. Surplus food is shared with shelters and soup kitchens, proving that a single seed can nurture both community and planet through the power of giving.

Born on 15 November 1932, Petula Clark began her professional career as a child performer and went on to build a career that spans more than 80 years. She charted her first major hit in the UK with “The Little Shoemaker” in the 1950s and became an international star with songs like “Downtown”, “My Love” and “I Couldn’t Live Without Your Love”.

What makes her journey exceptional is not just the hits, but the reach—singing in multiple languages, crossing into film and theatre, and continuing to perform and record for decades. She didn’t just shine for a year or two; she kept going, evolving, and adapting.

Petula’s career wasn’t all glitz either: behind the scenes she balanced family life and a demanding schedule, shifted between countries, and embraced new challenges. But it’s the joyous voice, the unmistakable melodies, and the sense of optimism in her songs that stick with us today.

So here’s to Petula Clark — still vibrant, still creative, still inspiring. A musical force, a silver-screen presence and a true survivor in the world of showbusiness.

May you continue to enjoy your day, Petula Clark, and know that your music and your legacy are still very much loved by generations of fans.
