Welcome to our new Scrapstore page! This page replaces 'The Scrapstore at EKM'. The scrapstore saves safe, clean 'scrap' craft materials from Landfill.

We welcome visitors to browse and fill a basket. All money raised is for EKM.

Tomorrow is your last chance to browse the ScrapStore before we close for our festive break! ✨ We’re open 10am to 2pm tomorrow, and will be closing our doors after that.

The ScrapStore will be closed from Sunday 21st December and will reopen on Wednesday 7th January 2026.

A beautiful box of silk embroidery thread has just been donated and is ready for you at The ScrapStore! Perfect for adding colour and texture to your projects.

We’re open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am–2pm, but we’ll be closing for our festive break after 20th December and reopening on 7th January 2026. Make sure to pop in before it’s too late!

Our ScrapStore gift vouchers are back for the festive season. 🎄 If you know someone who enjoys crafting or simply likes supporting a green, creative community space and charity, a voucher could make a lovely present.

Vouchers are available from £5 and can be used to choose from all the wonderful donated craft materials in the ScrapStore.

Just pop in and chat to us if you’d like to make a voucher part of your festive giving this year. We’re open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm at Foresters Hall, Ramsgate.

Vintage find alert 👀 Love sewing or vintage fashion? We’ve had an amazing donation of patterns from the 30s to the 80s. One of East Kent Mencap's ScrapStore visitors, Alina, has been getting wonderfully creative. She knits the sweetest mice using odds and ends of wool from the ScrapStore, plus mini accessories she discovers while browsing. She’s already made a whole family of mice, including a lovely Remembrance Day poppy display.

Last week, she was on the lookout for bits and pieces to create a Mod mouse on a scooter – we can’t wait to see how it turns out.

What could you make from the treasures you find here? Fill a basket with beautiful donated craft goodies for a £5 donation. That’s a lot of creativity for a little price.

We’re open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm. Pop in and have a rummage!

Look what’s just landed in the ScrapStore… a very cute mini sewing machine for kids! 🧵 It’s fully working, comes with the instruction manual and spare bobbins, and is perfect for any young maker who wants to learn to sew. A lovely Christmas gift for a crafty kid.

🌹 From Scrap to Stunning! 🌹

One of our amazing visitors - turned a small vintage tapestry canvas from our Scrapstore into this gorgeous cushion with help from his wife! Using second-hand wools and a lot of creativity, they gave new life to something old.

We love how the vibrant reds and deep blues make this piece pop showing that sustainability can be beautiful!
