"Kent Police Pantomime Group" was formed in 1998 after a local policeman decided to find a different way to help him with his charity fund- raising. He quickly finished a script, asked a colleague to direct the production and a "one off show" was put on at the Theatre Royal in Margate in January of 1999 (The Wizard from Auss in aid of Mencap)
It was performed by serving police officers from Thanet, (The thin blue chorus line!) who, all in all their own time, worked tirelessly to produce a fantastic show! Due the success of the first show, and the large amount of charity money raised, it was decided to put on a charity pantomime for the local community each year until they got fed up with us! Over the years we have vanquished many a foe, our heroes have rescued dozens of damsels, seen many ditties, dances and dodgy dames and we have probably produced more custard pies than Mr Kipling. During this time our area commanders, local celebs and even our local M.P.s have taken part in the shows (Many thanks to Roger and Steve for being such good sports!)
With public support, we have been able to raise many thousands of pounds for local and national charities over the years. Please continue your generous support. Buy our tickets and 'like' our face-book page to help spread the word!

Firstly, we want to say a huge THANK YOU for all of your patience, support and kindness following the sudden closure of our previous venue. We know the disruption and uncertainty wasn’t ideal, and we truly appreciate everyone sticking with us while we worked hard behind the scenes to make the magic happen 💙

But now… the curtain is rising once again!

After a few unexpected twists worthy of any good pantomime… we are THRILLED to officially announce that The Police Panto 2027 will now be taking place at The Charles Dickens School! 🎭✨

And before anyone asks…

✅ The dates are EXACTLY the same!
✅ The show is EXACTLY the same… if not even BIGGER and BETTER!⭐ Your favourite cast are all returning!

OH YES THEY ARE! 👏

We’ll still have all the things you know and love — a fabulous theatre space, our bar, sweet stalls, laughter, boos, cheers and plenty of panto magic 💫

Our team are now working incredibly hard behind the scenes to get the ticketing system ready and bespoke for the new venue. Tickets will be back on sale VERY shortly 🎟️

If you already purchased tickets for the previous venue, please don’t worry — you will automatically be issued new tickets with similar seats. If you have any questions at all, please do reach out to the team and we’ll be happy to help 💙

Red Rockin’ Hood has been VERY busy behind the scenes… and we’ve got a little teaser for you 👀

Our brand-new venue for The Police Panto 2027 is almost ready to be revealed! We’re just waiting on a few final bits of paperwork and formalities (boo, hiss… the boring stuff! 😴📄)

BUT… here’s what we can tell you…

✨ The show IS happening in Thanet— OH YES IT IS!✨ And the dates are staying EXACTLY the same — OH YES THEY ARE!

So no need to panic, cancel, or cry into your glitter… your favourite rock ‘n’ roll panto is very much alive and kicking 🎶🔥

Well… this isn’t quite the plot twist we were expecting… 👀

As many of you will have heard, St Lawrence College has sadly closed its doors with immediate effect following its liquidation.

First and foremost, our hearts go out to the incredible staff, students, and families affected by this sudden news. A place full of memories, laughter, and community — and we know just how much it meant to so many 💙

Now… in true panto style… the story doesn’t end here… OH NO IT DOESN’T! 🎭

Behind the scenes, we’re already working on our magical Plan B to find a fabulous new home for The Police Panto 2027 – Red Rockin’ Hood 🐺🎸

The show WILL go on — just with a slightly different stage!

Following recent updates, we’re delighted to confirm that St Lawrence College will remain open — which means it’s officially business as usual for The Police Panto! 🎉

That can only mean one thing…

🎭 Red Rockin’ Hood is BACK at the fabulous Taylor Hall Theatre in Ramsgate! 🎭

All performances will take place at our much-loved home venue, and we couldn’t be more excited to be returning to the stage where the magic truly happens.

🎟️ Tickets are NOW BACK ON SALE — and we expect them to fly faster than you can shout “IT’S BEHIND YOU!”

If you’ve already booked, your tickets remain valid — no changes needed.

✨ Venue Update – The Show Goes On! ✨

Following the recent announcement regarding St Lawrence College, we want to reassure all our amazing audiences that The Police Panto 2027 – Red Rockin’ Hood – is absolutely going ahead!

We are currently exploring all available options, including discussions regarding The Taylor Hall Theatre, as well as identifying other suitable local venues to ensure we deliver the fantastic production you expect from us.

If you’ve already purchased tickets — there is nothing to worry about. Your booking remains valid, and the show will take place either at Taylor Hall or at another brilliant venue locally.

We’ll keep everyone updated as plans progress, but rest assured — the magic, the music and the mayhem are very much on track.

Bigger stage? New chapter? Even louder boos for the villain?
Whatever happens… we’ll be ready. 🎭 🎸 🤘
