🦠 Strangles 🦠
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
It is our understanding that there are a number of cases of strangles in the local area. Strangles is a very infectious disease that can make horses very very ill. It is often carried from horse to horse carried on people’s hands and clothes.
We ask that everyone be very cautious! If you are around horses at other facilities, petting farms, schools, tack shops or riding facilities please change your clothes and wash your hands before you go to another stables! We ask that boots and shoes worn to other facilities are not brought or worn here at our yard. We will have disinfectant pads and buckets out. But this takes a community to tackle it!
It can be transferred from one horse to another without you realising.
We know it’s really hard to not pet the ponies…but please refrain for their safety!
We have had no illness at E Liverpool RDA, and would very much like to keep it that way! We fully support and appreciate the businesses that are working hard to contain and treat the outbreaks and that have been honest and open by announcing their result and action. Wishing you all a speedy recovery. ❤️
