It is our favourite weekend of the year as we empty our store of tents and pots to take 45 kids to St. George's Day camp!
It has been made much easier this year with kind help of PSD charity van hire. We got a new van to fill up and drive to Bispham getting it all done in one trip for free!!. Thank you The PSD Group 🙏

Our Scouts competed in the Merseyside Great Escape last weekend. They didn't win but had a great time learning new skills with Scouts from across the county.

We had a night of celebrating beginnings and endings.
Our Squirrels group started a year ago so we had a birthday party complete with pass the parcel, balloons and a Cuthbert cake Aldi UK. All Squirrels got a special badge. Thank you to the parents that brought bits for a party tea and those who stayed to help.

We then reset to celebrate our longest serving leader, Akela in Rocket Pack Cubs as she finally hung up her necker and headed for new adventures. Karen, our District Lead Volunteer St Helens Scout District awarded Christine the Badge of Merit in recognition of her long service to Scouting. Baloo and the cubs made a special picture of finger prints and a quote from the main man, Lord Baden-Powell.
Christine remains on our Trustee Board and will continue to shape the 5th, we are lucky to have her! Thank you Akela 💚

We were honoured in January to be presented with a generous cheque from Rainhill Rotary Club in recognition of the impact the 5th has had in the village for over 60 years. The funds were to help with the new fencing around the hut, improving security for the young people in Scouting and opening the site up to camping for the first time.
Representatives from all sections thanked the President of Rainhill Rotary Rainhill as Akela accepted the cheque.
