Collective Rainham Art Project

Collective Rainham Art Project We, the Collective Rainham Art project, are dedicated to shattering the linear constraints of reality and embracing the chaos of non-being.

Through fragmented brushstrokes, mismatched media, and unspoken intentions, we aim to transcend time, space, and understanding. Our mission is to reassemble the disconnected fragments of existence into an ever-evolving collage, where meaning dissolves into the void and the void bursts into untamed colour. In our work, we invite the viewer to question not just art, but the very fabric of their own

perception, while consuming the kaleidoscopic sense of being with abandon. We are the intersection of the void and the unknowable, and we create for the sake of creating.

Miniature portraits first gained popularity during the reign of Henry VIII, first as watercolours on calfskin and later as brightly-coloured enamel painted on metal, often kept as trinkets.

During the reign of Elizabeth I their popularity flourished and artists like Nicholas Hilliard and Isaac Oliver created iconic works.

One of our members is captivated by these miniature artworks and he and his friends have been busy creating their own tiny masterpieces.

Thanks to Theodore Minor, one of our founding members, for agreeing to begin to share some of his found shopping lists. Theodore sums up this artistic ‘intention’ via the medium of haiku:
