Plantation Rangers

Plantation Rangers Plantation Rangers is a community initiative focused on revitalising a local woodland and engaging children in outdoor, nature-based activities.

Each monthly two-hour session offers a mix of hands-on environmental work—like litter pick-ups, wildlife observation, and creative nature crafts—with fun moments such as storytelling and marshmallow roasting around a fire. The program not only helps restore a once-neglected space but also nurtures a sense of stewardship and community among local families.

Things have been a little quiet on the Plantation Rangers front lately, as we all know life gets busy. But I'd love to get the monthly play sessions back up and running. If you fancy helping out with coordinating or running them, please get in touch. There's strength in numbers!

And for anyone about this morning, please come join the Writhlington Action Group's monthly litter pick this morning.

Meet at Writhlington hall at 10am. Bin bags and little pickers are provided.

We cannot wait for this Sunday's Plantation Rangers. As part of Festival of Nature we will be taking to the water for a really exciting and fun exploration of our local waterways.

And with huge thanks to Avon Wildlife Trust we received a grant that allowed us to purchase two kits, how cool are these?
