OUR STORY | Since 1898

Did you know we've been around since 1898? 🏛️

We started life as Bury & District Referees, became the Bury & North Manchester Referees' Association, and then joined forces with Rochdale Referees to become the Bury & Rochdale RA you know today.

Through all of it, one thing hasn't changed: supporting, training and developing match officials across Greater Manchester and beyond.

Been a member for years? Tell us your favourite RA memory in the comments 👇

LAWS OF THE GAME | The Answer ✅

On Monday we asked: a goal kick is blown straight back into the kicker's own goal. What's the call?

The answer: a corner kick to the opponents.

A goal can't be scored directly into the kicker's own goal from a goal kick. If the ball goes in, the restart is a corner kick to the opposing team (Laws 10 and 16).

Did you get it right? Thanks to everyone who had a go in the comments. 👏

LAWS OF THE GAME | Quiz of the Week ⚽

What's the call? 🤔

A goal kick is taken. The ball is kicked and clearly moves, then a gust of wind carries it straight back into the kicker's own goal. Nobody else touches it.

Goal? Retake? Something else?

Drop your answer in the comments. We'll reveal it on Wednesday!

🟨 ONE WIN. ONE LEARNING POINT.

Before you put the kit away, take a minute to reflect on your weekend.

👏 What did you handle well?
🎯 What’s one thing you’d like to work on next time?

It could be your positioning, a conversation with a player, working with your assistants or staying composed during a difficult spell.

Give yourself credit for the positives, too — they’re part of your development.

Share yours below if you’d like. Keep it constructive and focused on your own performance, without naming teams or players.

Reflect. Learn. Go again. ⚽
