A huge thank you to our watering angels who have helped our trees make it through this heatwave. Sadly there is still no rain in sight and our trees are in desperate need of as much water as they can get. If you are able to, please bring a big bottle or more of water along on your walks through the orchard and pour it around the base of the trees. Generally one tree will happily guzzle a few litres!

A few photos from a fabulous morning at Ridgeway Farm Community Orchard, where new volunteers helped create a mulch path to help prevent the ground becoming muddy. Other volunteers mowed paths throughout the orchard and checked the trees, pruning and weeding as necessary.
One volunteer said "Just imagine in 5 years time when we will be picking the fruits to eat!"
The orchard is growing well so we hope to have a few fruits beforehand too.
New volunteers are always welcome so please come and join us on the first Sunday of every month at 10am.

Orchard Volunteers Needed!
Weather is unclear for our orchard care and litter pick meet up on the 7th June (this Sunday) at 10am, but our volunteers are determined to attend to your orchard. As always, we greatly appreciate any support - manpower is our biggest weakness at present!

Orchard Volunteers Needed!
It looks like great weather for this First Sunday of the Month meeting at our orchard.
The nettles are getting tall - so this will be our main aim! If anyone here has strimmer experience (whether with your own strimmer or not) then your help would be highly valued by our small team of regular volunteers, who despite our passion for the orchard, lack some of the strength needed to complete this task to make it a truly welcoming place.

It would be amazing if you can help in any way at all

We hope to see you there from 10am on Sunday, for however long you can give. Usually we are finished by 11am 🙏

Only a couple of days until our free Easter competition! 🐣 Hopefully the weather will be on our side.

Come along to the ridgeway farm community orchard site on the 29th March at 1pm (keep an eye on this page as we may change the time if there is torrential rain!) with a hard boiled, decorated chicken egg.

There will be prizes for all!

Free Easter Event 🐣

Inspired by the Cooper Hill Cheese Rolling Event, we will be hosting an egg rolling competition for adults and children alike!

Come along to the Ridgeway Farm Community Orchard with a decorated chicken egg on the 29th March at 1pm (we are on Google maps!).

Prizes for all! We look forward to seeing you there!
