Monthly beach cleans, projects, fundraising and above all lots of FUN! If you like the beach why don't you get involved with Rossall Beach Residents & Community Group? It doesn't matter where you live, for just £1 you can join and become a member. Or if you don't want to do that, follow us on Facebook for a while and see what you think! We hold a monthly meeting for members to plan projects, find
out what's happening, share ideas and decide on events, projects and more. On Mondays on the alternate fortnight we hold a community beach clean - forthcoming events are on this page so if you 'Like' you'll get a reminder. Anyone can come along to beach cleans, you don't have to be a member. All equipment is provided. What else do we do? Well we can set you up as a Lone Beach Cleaner - if you can't get to our regular events and would prefer to litterpick under your own steam. We hold fundraising events to raise money to cover costs and to buy things. For example, we are about to put signs up to encourage people to clean up their dog poo. We've provided additional benches for people to sit awhile and enjoy the lovely view. We've provided the signage boards that explain what the views are and what plants and animals you'll find on the beach. We also provided the telescope. We've campaigned to encourage the council to resurface the road and pavements and improve the fabric of the area. Oh, and we look after our community garden against the sea wall. We record the litter and survey what comes off the beach so that we can provide the information to our friends at the Marine Conservation Society, who use the data to campaign for removal of litter at source. We've put together our 'Rossall Beach Buddies Roadshow' to take to community groups and schools to explain why we all have to look after our own drains and sewers at home. Oh, and above all, we have a lot of fun! We've made new friends, had some good laughs, and feel like we achieve something good. Why don't you come and join in?
