Preston Pedals

Preston Pedals Preston Pedals is a non-profit, co-operatively run organisation to increase the number of people who cycle in Preston. In summary:
1.

We believe that cycling is a powerful force for health and well-being, for community, and for the planet 🌍 Preston Pedals is a not-for-profit, co-operatively run cycle organisation in Preston that enables Preston communities to access and get on their bikes, and reduce waste by re-using and recycling bikes that otherwise might end up in landfill. Our vision - Preston as a place where everyone in t

he community benefits from more people cycling, where everyone can experience the benefits of owning, maintaining and riding their own bike. Aims -To actively break down barriers to cycling and promote the benefits of cycling, especially of cycling those short everyday journeys, to as many people as we can. Ethos - At Preston Pedals we believe that more people cycling is better for our health and wellbeing as well as our environment. What we do
We bring people together to improve access to cycling. Our friendly and welcoming bike mechanics and ride leaders refurbish bicycles; fix and show people how to repair their bicycles and we organise social led rides. Refurbish used bikes - we refurbish second hand bikes donated from the public giving them a new lease of life and saving them from going to landfill.
2. Bike repair and maintenance - we work in communities to support everyone who wants to learn how to repair and maintain their bicycle, upskilling and educating them to increase confidence in looking after bikes.
3. Support to ride – we help to build the confidence of cyclists, especially newbie and less experienced cyclists through social led rides that are fun!
4. Develop a cycling culture - growing a community who cycle, and a culture of everyday cycling in Preston for proven benefits for health, wellbeing and improving our environment. We have been kindly supported by grants from the National Lottery Community Fund, Preston City Council, Cycling UK Big Bike Revival, Preston Co-operative Development Network (PCDN), and Lancashire County Council Active Travel Team. Bike donations gratefully received! Book places for activities on Eventbrite.

PRESTON PEDALS RIDES TO SUPPORT THE SPINAL INJURIES ASSOCIATION

🚴‍♂️💙 Just under 2 weeks to go! 💙🚴‍♀️

The countdown is officially on for our big cycle challenge in support of the Spinal Injuries Association — and Team Preston Pedals is ready to roll. We’ve now got 10 riders signed up, all taking on this challenge together. Some of us are seasoned cyclists, others are bravely stepping way outside their comfort zone, and that mix is exactly what makes this so special.

We’re pushing ourselves because we know the difference SIA makes every single day for people rebuilding their lives after a spinal injury. That impact is what keeps us training, keeps us motivated, and will keep us pedalling on the day.

If you’re able to sponsor us, no matter the amount, it genuinely means the world. Every donation helps SIA continue their incredible work — and gives us an extra boost to keep going.

đź’™ Thank you for supporting us and supporting SIA.
