Just a reminder the the Ten Pin Bowling starts again on Wednesday 2nd.

The Macmillan Cancer Support Community Meet-ups (CCMU) will be commencing again on Wednesday 2nd September at the Hollywood Bowl Preston . The meet-ups offer a welcoming and relaxing space for people who are living with cancer to come together over a free game of bowling.
The next Meet-ups will be fortnightly, on a Wednesday, 11am - 1pm, these are the dates of the next sessions. There is no need to book , you can turn up on the day.

I went along to visit these guys on Wednesday. Brilliant to see another support group getting established in the area. I spent some time giving them some pointers that they might want to look into about funding and support etc and put them in touch with the brilliant team at Tackle Prostate Cancer. Everyone at the Walnut Group wishes you the best of luck getting your group going and we look forward to a close working relationship delivering support for men and their families affected by Prostate Cancer.

Good article on BBC Breakfast about Prostate Cancer. Both men wishing they had got tested earlier! Please share. These sad events will hopefully prompt others to get a test. I asked for a test after seeing Bill Turnbull talking about it and at age 55 I was lucky to discover I had a raised PSA and went through treatment. Please share.

Whether you fancy taking on the 5 or 10-mile course, this fast, flat route - starting and finishing at Hutton Village Hall, Preston - is ideal for runners of all levels. It’s ideal if you're chasing a PB or training for a bigger challenge like the Great North Run too!
