Free Outdoor and Community Spots
Live at the Bandstand (Today's Event)
If you enjoy live music, the city’s free outdoor summer concerts run through June and July between 1pm and 4pm. Funded and delivered by Portsmouth City Council to celebrate a century of city status, it showcases brilliant talent. You can bring a flask, a folding chair, and pick a comfortable spot on the grass to enjoy the atmosphere.
Today's Showcase (Sunday 7th June): The event today is the Indie Rock Showcase, presented by Fitz Promotions. It takes place at the iconic Southsea Bandstand from 1pm to 4pm.
Cost: Free.
Important Weather Notice: Because these events are entirely open-air and dependent on reasonable coastal weather, they can occasionally be altered or cancelled at short notice if it is raining or too windy. The organizers post immediate, live updates directly to the official "Live at the Bandstand" page if they have to pause a showcase or change the location, so it is always highly recommended to check their page before heading down to the seafront.
Portsmouth and Southsea Car Boot Sale
This incredibly popular community car boot sale is a fantastic place to hunt for bargains or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere. Run by Portsmouth City Council, the event brings together hundreds of local sellers and buyers on the green spaces of Southsea Common.

When and Where: It runs on set Sundays through the spring and summer from 7am to 1pm along Duisburg Way. Hot food and drinks are available on-site, and all profits raised go directly to supporting local charities.
Accessibility: Located on flat ground right by the common, with plenty of public parking available nearby along the seafront for easy access.
