Community Kettle CIC Named Finalist for Community Business of the Year 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Community Kettle is proud to announce that we’ve been selected as a finalist for Community Business of the Year at the Portsmouth Business Excellence Awards.

For a small, volunteer‑run community hub in the heart of Cosham, this recognition is enormous. It reflects the dedication of every volunteer, every guest who walks through our doors, and every partner who believes in the power of warmth, dignity, and belonging. What began as a disused bank and a simple idea has grown into a lifeline for hundreds — and being recognised alongside established organisations is a testament to what community can achieve when people come together.

We also want to extend our warmest congratulations to all the other nominees. The work happening across our city is inspiring, and we’re honoured to stand alongside so many brilliant community‑focused organisations.

This nomination belongs to all of us — and we couldn’t be prouder.

Can You Help?
My sister Tracy is volunteering for three months with around 150 children aged 4–11. She leaves in early January 2026 and would love to take some equipment with her to support the children’s learning and play.
She’s shared a list of suggested items, and if you feel you could help by donating any of them, it would be truly appreciated. The cut-off date is the end of November, so she has time to assess what she has.
Any donations passed to me will be safely passed on to her.

Protractor sets for maths
Erasers / rubbers
Crayons
HB pencils
Colouring pencils
Blue and black pens
Marker pens
Lightweight notebooks
Lightweight colouring books
Uno playing cards
Puzzles for ages 5–8 (boys and girls)
Skipping ropes
Soccer balls (that can be flattened for travel)
Volleyballs
Old power banks
Small solar-powered torches

We are planning to go through our unused resources as well as a collection box 📦 to give over to Wendy by the end of the month.

Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet on this page as we have been focusing on future plans…

We have several fundraisers open at the moment including a trip for two with Barnaby, the chance to win Paddington and some Blackouts
