Pompey in the Community is the affiliated charity of Portsmouth Football Club. Established in 2009 to engage with groups and communities in health and wellbeing initiatives, it has been winning awards for its innovative work ever since. Portsmouth’s love of football and passion for its football club gives us a unique position in the city and allows us to use that passion, and the power of football

to engage with Portsmouth people, including some of the most vulnerable and hard to reach members of our community. This is done through a broad range of programmes and workshops that combine sport and physical activity, education, health and wellbeing to develop community cohesion within the city. Whether it is disengaged young adults in Targeted Kicks, those living with dementia in the Life and Chimes group or young people following our Live Online cooking sessions as part of the Blue Kitchen programme, everyone can take part. Uniting people to share experiences and act together has proven benefits, not only on their health and well-being, but also on the community as a whole.

Pompey in the Community are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kenny Jackett, who passed away yesterday at the age of 64.

Kenny made a lasting impact on Portsmouth and the wider football community, and he will be remembered fondly by so many connected to the club and the game.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Kenny's family, friends and all who knew him at this difficult time.

A huge thank you to VANQUIS, a volunteer charity from Bradford, and Moneybarn in Petersfield for spending time with us and helping to Paint the John Jenkins Stadium💙🎨

The team have been hard at work painting our office, meeting room, and café toilets, helping to create brighter and more welcoming spaces for our staff, participants, volunteers, and visitors.
