2 years in the making… & Station Square is OPEN! 🙌🏼

A huge thank you to Garden Escapes for the incredible build & for coming down this morning to fit the final piece so we could open in time for the weekend 👏

This wouldn’t have been possible without the collaboration of the working group and council members. It’s proof of what can be achieved when everyone works together toward a shared vision 🤝

We hope everyone enjoys the new ramps & makes the most of the space while CAUS continues progressing plans for the permanent park at Metropole.

Keep an eye out for the new signage around skatepark rules & etiquette—let’s keep it a safe and positive space for all 🛹

Week 1 progress on the build 🙌🏼

By the end of this week we should see our square completed - safety inspection is required prior to any reopening.

The day we’ve all been waiting for 🙌🏼

2 years in the making… and it’s finally here — new ramp installation day! 🛹

Please bare with us while the work’s being completed. It’ll be worth the wait 👀

🚨Don’t be alarmed🚨

If you’ve already noticed — the ramps are currently being removed from the square.

This is actually a positive step forward 👍 It’s all part of the process to prepare for the installation of the new ramps.

The council needs the area cleared to carry out maintenance and a full clean ahead of the new ramps being installed on 13th April.

Please note: the square will be closed during the installation period and won’t be usable for any equipment until everything has been completed and passed a safety inspection.

🚧 Station Square Temporary Closure Update 🚧

Station Square will be closed on Thursday 9th & Friday 10th April to allow the council time to carry out cleaning and essential maintenance.

It will then close again for approximately 2 weeks from 13th April for the installation of the new ramps 🛹
⚠️Absolutely no skating during construction ⚠️

We’re all looking forward to seeing the finished setup 🙌

Please note:
The square cannot reopen until it has been fully inspected and signed off.

👉 In the meantime, the Urban Plaza at Ramore Head will remain open for all your skateboarding needs.

⭐ GREAT NEWS INCOMING ⭐

After two years of working in collaboration with the council, we’re excited to finally be moving ahead with a full refurb of Station Square. This will include brand new ramps and a fresh layout — designed by skaters, for the skating community.

A temporary skatepark will be installed from April 13th for two weeks while work gets underway.

As a result, the current ramps will need to be removed. These will be removed before April 8th to allow time for cleaning and essential maintenance ahead of installation.

If you’re interested in taking any of the existing ramps, please get in touch with Station SQ Working Group Portrush.

We can’t wait to see the finished result — it’s going to be worth it! 🛹

**ATTENTION**

Station Square will be closed to everyone this Saturday 28th February to enable the working group to safely carry out any essential maintenance to the existing ramps & do a general tidy of the area.

This work will begin at 11am - 2pm depending on repairs and clean up.

Please be patient with the volunteers as they work hard to tidy up the square & ensure the area is safe for the public to use.

Station square will not open until a safety check is completed.
