Another common name for this is 'Aaron's Rod' . The biblical stories endowed the original with miraculous qualities. Shortly after this week's session at Coy Pond, the first significant rain since the start of the drought.

The building work for the new, improved 'Bug City' has now been completed. On the original site, on the side path behind the 'Flowery Dell' garden (opposite 'Stairway to Heaven').

Morning and Evening...
While we do some planting on the rockery, 'right plant right place' is often the choice of the plant. If we agree, there it stays. If not, we exercise our right of veto.
'Evening primrose' spreads wildly: often tolerated.
'Morning Glory' has been grown from seed, planted to grow up its own, custom made, bamboo 'wigwam'. But I spotted a strand wandering off to make love to a nearby Evening primrose. So even the most genteelly reared can go astray!
