Pontypridd Litter Pickers

16/10/2026

One bag of rubbish collected from the Taff Trail after my run this morning.

There were already two bags left by the bin before I started but they had already been collected by the time I got back 👍🏼. Kudos to my fellow litter pickers and the council 🙌🏼

I had help from 3 volunteers for half an hour this morning as we tackled the park next to Maesycoed primary school. Every little helps! Thank you so very much for coming.

The council had mowed the grass in the park and all the hidden litter was on show. Between us we filled 2 bags. Doesn't sound like a lot but when you consider how many crisp packets and sweet wrappers fill a bin bag it's actually quite impressive, especially when a lot of the rubbish had been fragmented by the mowers/strimmers.

***Update: We'll meet at 10:30 to give me time to collect the kit from Meadow Street Gardens***

Just a reminder that we will be tidying the park next to Maes Y Coed primary school next Sunday. Looking for volunteers - come along even if you only have 30 minutes to spare, the more hands the more rubbish we can collect. See you there!

Took a pass around the park and playing field in Maesycoed this morning. One bag filled.

If someone has lost a Disney-themed charm or pendant, let me know as I found one.

We've done the Graig.
We've been over to Glyncoch.
Where in Ponty would you like us to clean up next?
Preferably somewhere that the council won't do, like a park or footpath.

Once we have a list of a few places then I will put them on a rota and we will cycle through them all on a regular basis.

If you have a spare couple of hours, why not join Treforest Litter Pickers at their next pick. They really are a friendly bunch.

Hello Treforest 👋

Weather Update at 8.45am 27/9/26 .

There looks like there will be some rain about this morning.

We are still going ahead, so bring your jackets.

If it gets too bad we'll go home early but at least we can say we tried our best!

Thanks 👍

Our next litter pick is down in the Meadow Street area.

You are very welcome to come and join us, it really is a lot of fun 😊

A bit of rain didn't stop the hard core litter pickers this morning. 5 bags of rubbish on the path outside Glyncoch Community Centre and another 2 down at the park. Not bad for 2 hours work.

There's plenty more to be done so we will be back.

Thanks Meya & Graham for joining me.
