Meet Lara & Fleur who recently completed a HUGE challenge to raise money for BRCA+ Chat.

But why did they do it? Over to Lara...

“At 18, I discovered I was BRCA1 positive. While most people my age were navigating college and friendships, I was confronted with the reality that I had inherited the same gene mutation that had taken my mum from me.

Although I’ve only been following BRCA+ Chat for a year, it has already become an invaluable source of support and understanding. I wish I had found BRCA+ Chat much earlier — it would have made a huge difference in helping me feel less alone throughout this journey.”

Lara’s story will resonate with so many of you who are navigating your own journeys of not only BRCA+, but also the grief and loss that comes along with it.

Head over to brcachat.com to read the full BLOG & of course, lets fill the comments with love & support for Lara & Fleur’s INCREDIBLE achievement. (Their Just Giving page is still running if you can help them tip over the £1k mark).

Thank you ladies. We appreciate everything you’ve done- and it will make a HUGE difference ❤️xx

“I have experienced a huge sense of relief knowing that my risk of breast cancer has decreased so significantly. However, now that relief has subsided I’m learning to feel sexy in my body again.

I don’t need to wear a bra anymore and the surgery has left me with numbness in my breasts.

I’ve recently been trying to find wire free bras to wear, just for myself, to make me feel sexier and more confident on a daily basis.”

Thanks so much for sharing!

If you are making decisions about your surgery, our mastectomy gallery is a really valuable resource. It is full of real-life outcomes to help you make informed choices.

If you've had any kind of Flap surgery (DIEP, TUG, GAP, TRAM or LATISSIMUS DORSI etc) we would love to add your images to expand the gallery. Drop us a message if you can help xx

Every year our community takes part in ‘Topless Travels’, sharing topless pics from beaches, holidays, gardens, forests and anywhere in between to celebrate confidence after a mastectomy, and everything our bodies have carried us through.

It’s not about having to feel confident all the time. And it’s definitely not about ‘loving’ every part of the journey. It’s about freedom, community and empowerment.

Watch this space - Topless Travels 2026 launches soon 👙 👀

Today we want to shine the light on another of our wonderful fundraisers....

Introducing Marj- one of our Scottish Buddies who ran not one, but TWO half marathons (in TWO DAYS!) to raise funds for BRCA+ Chat.

"It took me a long time to test for my genetic status, which was born out of fear but I’m pushing 40 now and wanted to find out where I can hopefully take action or catch something early, let’s hope it’s the first of these 2 outcomes!

I can’t sugarcoat everything - knowledge is power to prevent cancer, but the road can be long and bumpy for many of us; while you wait for surgery and navigate SO many decisions, medical pathways, anticipatory grief for your body.

What helped me as I wait for my first MRI was deciding to sign up for 2 half marathons back to back - why not create another challenge amongst challenges?!

I ran the Superhalfs series in Prague (28th March) and Berlin (29th March): 2 of my fave cities. I dreamed about doing Berlin for so long and it’s a popular half marathon. When I got into both I chucked myself headlong into it.

I’m proud (and insane for not training enough for this - seriously, train!) I like to push my body the way it pushes me. My health is a massive challenge and it can feel like a barrier to my own freedom, but I want to run into a future where I can reduce my risk, take care of the machine my soul is housed in, get through the gate and over the line."

Marj- You are incredible and we're all so proud of you! Thank you so much xx

Head over to our website to read Marj's blog & let's fill the comments with love ❤️
