🎨 A big thank you to Sarah at Devonport Live for donating these storage boxes to MWNC. 💙

As you can see, they've had a bit of a makeover and are now brightening up the centre while giving us some much needed storage space.

A special thank you to Denise and Simon for all the painting and hard work that went into their transformation. 🖌️🎨

It's always nice when local organisations support one another. Devonport Live is just around the corner from MWNC, so it's great to keep things in the neighbourhood. 🏡

🚧 Youth Club Update for Today 🚧

As building work starts at the centre today, there will be a small change to our Youth Club activities.

⚽ Junior Youth Club will be walking up to Hamoaze for trampolining, football and other activities.

🎵 Senior Youth Club will either be based in the foyer and disco room at the centre or will head up to Hamoaze.

If you have any questions, please get in touch.

It's Volunteers' Week!

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers.

Whether you're helping at activities, making a cuppa, setting up tables, watering plants, unlocking doors, tidying up, or lending a hand whenever it's needed, you help keep the centre running.

Quite a lot of what happens at the Mount Wise Neighbourhood Centre simply wouldn't happen without you.

Thank you for your time, your patience, your ideas, and for caring about your local community.

As part of Volunteers' Week, there are free events and activities taking place across Plymouth for volunteers, including tours, kayaking, swimming and a celebration evening. These are organised by local partners and organisations across the city, and volunteers are welcome to sign up and take part.

We need your help settling a debate 👀

We have created two new posters for the Mount Wise Neighbourhood Centre fundraiser… and we cannot agree which one is better 😄

Some people clearly prefer Poster 1, others are firmly in the Poster 2 camp. At the end of the day, it probably does not matter too much as they both serve the same purpose – helping raise support for improvements to a centre used every week by local people.

Another Nature Counts session coming up 🌿with Nature Plymouth, Zebra Collective, Livewell Southwest, The Rank Foundation , Plymouth Wellbeing Hub Network

Our friends at Pollenize CIC will be back for another Nature Counts Bioblitz Event, this time at Devonport Park.

Join a friendly, hands on nature session to learn about local plants and insects while helping gather useful information about our local green spaces.

Lots happening behind the scenes at Mount Wise Neighbourhood Centre 💙

We often share updates about the fundraiser, but we also wanted to recognise how much work is already happening behind the scenes to improve the centre.

There is building work starting soon to help improve the space, including an accessible toilet, helping make the centre work better for more people in our community.

There is also a huge amount of time going into planning, organising and making sure every penny goes as far as possible.

A special well done to Tasha, who negotiated so well on the new doors and installation that she managed to save the centre £1,500 👏 Money saved like this means more can go towards improving the building.

A big thank you to everyone helping move things forward. A lot happens behind the scenes, and step by step we are making the centre a better space for everyone who uses it ❤️

A quick notice for half term 😊

With it being half term this week, most regular activities at Mount Wise Neighbourhood Centre will not be running.

All activities will resume after half term. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Enjoy the lovely weather, but please stay safe in the sunshine ☀️ Plenty of sunscreen on and try to stay in the shade where possible.
