Two of our junior students sparring with a clear self defence mindset.
Pressure testing what they’ve learned, staying composed, not turning their back, using their legs to manage distance, getting knees & feet between themselves and the person trying to assert dominance. Off-balancing, controlling biceps & wrists, and working with the awareness that strikes are always a factor.
This round focused on one student starting on their back, working against resistance to create space and get back to their feet, all within safe, exploratory training. We work to a structured self defence syllabus both standing and the worst case scenario of being on the ground, taking into account strikes, the application of throws & takedowns, as well as covering ethics, de-escalation techniques, proportionality & philosophy based training within a structured, professionally taught syllabus.
Does your child need self defence? If the answer is yes, you already know where to come.
