I know this doesn't affect most of you, but I would have at a guess we all know or knew someone it did.

Over 1,700 veterans have applied for Financial Recognition to date and Defence is committed to continuing to ensure it does all it can to reach as many eligible veterans as possible before the Schemes close on 12 December 2026, hence me sending out this email.

If you or anyone you know was affected and hasn't started the process please send them this link so they can apply, before the deadline of the 12 December.

If anyone would like to talk about, we have an LGBT Coffee Morning on Monday 5th October also Monday 2nd November, both starting at 10.00 at the ELM Centre in Estover. Or you can contact me or even better Fighting With Pride.

As we head into Autumn as September is coming to a close their is still a lot of things happening in October.

1st October 13.00-15.00 Female Veterans Group at Miles Mitchell Village Hall supported by Colebrook SW.

1st October 18.00 Veterans Pie & Mash Supper at Tamar View Community this months good cause is Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club Plymouth.

5th October 10.00 - 12.00 LGBT Veterans Coffee Morning & Drop-in at ELM Community Centre and Wellbeing Hub, supported by Fighting with Pride.

5th & 19th October 17.30 for a 18.00 start Veterans D&D here at Four Greens Community Trust supported by Help For Heroes @ Help for Heroes Community Builder for Plymouth

Every Friday 11.00 - 13.00 their is the Veterans Cafe-Drop-in at The Hub at Foulston Park run by Argyle Community Trust.
