Tu Bishvat, the Jewish New Year for Trees, is a time to celebrate trees as pillars of life and express gratitude for the nourishment they provide.

This year, we were especially honoured to welcome the Chief Rabbi Mirvis to our Tu Bishvat Seder, where we marked the occasion by tasting fruits from each season.

In class, our children have been exploring eco-Judaism, learning about what the world provides us with, our responsibilities and how we can care for our environment. Children studied the importance of water, air and soil - and this Tu Bishvat Seder was a meaningful way to bring that learning to life.

Together with the Chief Rabbi, our student council members planted an olive tree at the entrance to Gesher, and just like our children and young people, we look forward to watching it grow and flourish over the years to come.

We've just hit another major milestone with the development of more inclusive resources for the community.

This , we are delighted to share that our Chagim Box Set of Inclusive Resources Booklets has now been published!

These unique box sets are designed for both neurodiverse and neurotypical learners to develop their connection to the Jewish festivals in an accessible and engaging manner. For each of the Chagim (Jewish festivals) the booklets include:

📖 A simple overview and reflection prompt to encourage self-awareness and emotional expression.
🎨 A sensory and practical activity to develop hands-on creativity.
💡 A “wow” fact to spark curiosity.
🗣️ A conversation starter to build connection and social skills.

The set is already being shared with schools, shuls, community leaders and educational professionals as a flexible tool to make Jewish learning more inclusive, engaging, and accessible for all.

With big discounts available for quantity purchases, they are also great as gifts for Chagim, end of year graduations, welcoming new families, Bat/Bar-Mitzvahs, engaging the community and class prizes.

If you would like a copy of the box set before we start selling them, we have some to give away, so be in touch.

The project's been a true labour of love by our Head of Jewish Studies Bradley Conway and In-house Designer Danny Cazzato. We are so excited to see how it will support students, families, and communities in bringing the Jewish festivals to life.

We'd like to extend a special thanks to our partners and supporters The United Synagogue and Rivka Steinberg who works with us and the United Synagogue and supporters The Wohl Legacy, All Aboard and the Office of the Chief Rabbi.

Wishing you a Shana Tova U'Metukah
