Pilton Cinema (Barnstaple)

Pilton Cinema (Barnstaple) Pilton Cinema is held on the last Friday of each month. The projector was partly funded by Awards for All.

It is a cinema for the community and although we have to charge a small amount to cover the significant cost of the film licence each month, we do not make a profit.

based on the true story of hairdresser Liz Evans, who in 1993 led a community campaign in Carmarthen, Wales, to save the Lyric Theatre from being demolished. To achieve this, she, along with local officials, enlisted the help of Hollywood by persuading Steven Spielberg to hold a special premiere of his movie Jurassic Park at the theatre.
