Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action

Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action AVA is part of a Scotland-wide network of Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) and we are one of 32 working with communities across the country.

AVA's mission as a part of the Third Sector Interface Scotland Network is to strengthen Aberdeenshire's diverse communities of geography and interest, ensuring they are powerful, resilient and resourced to develop their own solutions. These 32 TSIs build on a long history of local third sector infrastructure - we have experience of helping communities help themselves through the power of volunteer

ing and we help to harness the passion of individuals to come together to improve their community. TSIs build social value by developing enterprising agencies whose profit is for the community they seek to serve and we put the community at the heart of local decisions by ensuring the views of the third sector and the communities they support are heard and understood.

There were some fantastic conversations and connections, highlighting the brilliant organisations working hard to deliver a huge variety of services in their communities.

Have Your Say: Insch War Memorial Hospital

The inpatient ward at Insch Hospital was temporarily closed in early 2020 as part of the wider response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership - AHSCP is now seeking views as to the impact a potential decision to permanently close the inpatient service and a potential subsequent decision to declare the building surplus to the IJB’s requirement, may have on individuals, families and the wider community.

Volunteers are at the heart of so many organisations here in Aberdeenshire. While volunteers don't do it for recognition, we know that you might want to celebrate their achievements and the difference they have made to your organisation and their wider community.
