Our Wales Nature Week event on 10th July is a Slate Trail walk for over-55s!

Join Pen Y Bryn Outdoor Learning CIC for a stunning guided walk along part of the historic Slate Trail through the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia). This route takes us from the beautiful village of Beddgelert past Gelert's grave, along the Aberglaslyn Pass, with mountain scenery, woodlands, old quarry landscapes and remote valley paths towards Croesor and on to Garreg. This is a challenging but rewarding day out for active over-55s who enjoy walking in the mountains and exploring North Wales’ rich industrial heritage.

Eryri Nature Partnership meeting 🌿

On Tuesday we hosted the first ENP meeting of 2026! A really great day, where our partners came together in the wonderful in Machynlleth.

A fantastic day yesterday in CAT, Machynlleth with Eryri Nature Partnership for our first partnership meeting of 2026.
Thank you so much to everybody who presented, and thank you to everyone who joined us to listen, network, share ideas and catch up.
Thanks again to CAT for welcoming us all with tea, coffee, biscuits, and seasonal veg risotto for lunch. We used the 'Sheppard Theatre' throughout the morning, what a beautiful venue!

Join me - Mia - for a leisurely circular walk around Cwm Idwal, taking in geology, deep time, land use, Welsh place names, plant life, and myth & legend.

Cwm Idwal, or "The Valley of Idwal", is - in my opinion - the jewel in the crown of Eryri National Park. It was designated as Wales’s first national Nature Reserve in 1954 on account of its geological interest and rare alpine flora. This is your chance to learn more about these geological features and look at some of the plants.

Cwm Idwal has always been a deeply meaningful place for local people, and I’ll be telling the stories of the many different people who've spent time here, what they were doing, and how the landscape changed along with them. This awe-inspiring day of walking and learning in Cwm Idwal will definitely be one to remember.

This is a bilingual event but if you don't speak Welsh, don't worry - you'll still learn a couple of words and have a lovely time! Os ydych chi'n siarad Cymraeg, byddwch hefyd yn ei fwynhau 😊

Elin and Meg attended Nature's Work - Jim Langley's Mountain and Alpine flowers course over the weekend. It's difficult to describe exactly how brilliant of a day we had, and how much we learnt. We saw a huge variety of common, and rare, wildflower species of Eryri.

Thank you so much Jim, and we would urge anybody to attend a course like this!
