A thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Proclamation for the Worshipful Master— fine company, excellent ritual, and not a working tool out of place (for once).

The Lodge was clearly well-tiled, as three Light Blues were expertly raised… not in degree, but in office—and five more bravely stepped into their roles for the very first time, no doubt wondering what they’ve let themselves in for.

With fresh candidates knocking at the door and new members joining our ranks, the future of ESL1520 is looking brighter than the Master’s East under full illumination.

Onward and upward, Brethren—may our steps remain steady, our gavels firm, and our festive boards ever well supplied with friendliness and camaraderie.

Call to Action for Amelia

Amelia, a 7 year old girl from Rowley Regis, near Halesowen has suffered with Neuroblastoma, a rare cancer that affects children, since 2020. She has been through every type of treatment available, even partaking in clinical trials and has battled bravely. Unfortunately the cancer has repeatedly returned and she is now receiving palliative care.

On Tuesday 3rd March 2026, she will turn 8 years old and her final wish is to break the UK record and receive over 8,000 birthday cards.

The whole community has been pulling together, with the news spread on social media, local radio stations and the local news. When the community unites, Freemasonry is at the heart of it.

Therefore brethren we request that you help us, to help Amelia, fulfill her final wish.

Please send birthday cards for Amelia into the Provincial office where we will collect them and arrange a mass drop to help her achieve the record and more. The cards must be received by Friday 27th February to be included in the drop.

Please feel free to send cards to us from yourselves and your families. We ask all lodges meeting between now and then to provide cards for all members to sign and send in. At installation meetings Provincial wardens will also be acting as "drop off points" and collecting cards on our behalf.

Thanking you in advance brethren for your support. Let us be a vital part in ensuring this little girl's final wish.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2026, 'Bridging Generations', is a call-to-action. A reminder that the responsibility of remembrance doesn't end with the survivors - it lives on through their children, their grandchildren and through all of us.

This theme encourages us all to engage actively with the past - to listen, to learn and to carry those lessons forward. By doing so, we build a bridge between memory and action, between history and hope for the future.
