PENfro Book Festival

Website

PENfro Book Festival This is a community-run book festival designed to encourage a love of books and to celebrate the creative writing process.

The PENfro Book Festival has changed in character from an annual festival held each September at Rhosygilwen to a festival of "PENfro Events" of literary interest scattered through the year. There is an emphasis on local publications and writers, and through workshops and competitions we hope to see the emergence of exciting new talent. We do not try to compete with the big book festivals, but we enjoy the rather special ambience of Rhosygilwen, in the rolling countryside of North Pembrokeshire.

One of the strongest characters of the splendid Danish TV series called "Badehotellet" is the actor Edward Weyse, a serial philanderer with the emotional intelligence of a three-year-old and a seduction technique which is about as sophisticated as that of a hippopotamus. When he is around the drama turns into something akin to those old Whitehall farces, with much coming and going along the corridor and with much furtive opening and closing of bedroom doors. At the moment in the drama he's on wife number four, I think. It's all great fun, and very slick, and he gets all the best lines. Here are two of them: "You are absolutely the most beautiful woman I have never married" and "How dare you betray me by having s*x with your husband?" Great stuff!
