On the 29th April, there was a fundraising coffee and cake morning held at Sandygate Methodist Chapel to raise money and awareness for the Manx Stroke Foundation (MSF).

In attendance was MSF Trustee Edward Kelly who gave a short talk on the work the charity does and his own experiences of having a stroke.

The refreshment sales, collection tubs and a raffle raised an amazing £547, thank you 😀

NHS Levy Consultation

-The NHS Levy would be a new charge on income that would be separate from existing income tax.
-Potentially all the income generated from the NHS Levy would be ring-fenced to help fund our NHS.

The proposed levy will affect everyone, and part of the consultation is considering whether the levy should apply to some benefits including those that are means tested e.g. income support and non-means tested such as Jobseekers and Incapacity Benefit.

Income that is currently sheltered from income tax may also be included e.g. nursing expenses, charitable donations, single parents or disability allowances.

As a charity that support people with disabilities, we feel it is right we bring this potential levy to people's attention.
