📣 Charvil Village Fete AGM Wednesday 4th November at 7.30pm – first drink on us!

After another fantastic Charvil Village Fete, we’re already starting to think about next year and we’d love some new faces to join our friendly team of volunteers.

Our AGM will be held at The Wee Waif on Wednesday 4th November at 7.30pm and is open to anyone who would like to come along, hear more about the fete and find out how they could get involved.

We’re particularly looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:

⭐ Treasurer – helping us keep track of the fete finances, budgets and payments.

⭐ Secretary – helping organise meetings, take minutes and keep the committee on track.

⭐ Social Media & Communications – helping spread the word about the fete, promote everything that’s happening and keep our community updated.

⭐ Stall Bookings – looking after enquiries and bookings from the brilliant local businesses, charities and community groups who join us on fete day.

⭐ Raffle & Prize Coordinator – approaching local businesses and organisations to help us secure some fantastic raffle and fundraising prizes.

You don’t need previous committee or events experience, and you certainly don’t need to take on everything! Each role has a specific area to look after, with the support of the rest of the committee.

If you’ve enjoyed the fete over the years and have ever thought “I’d quite like to get involved”, come and have a chat with us. There’s absolutely no obligation to sign up for a role just because you come to the AGM.

A huge thank you to everyone at Charvil Village Fete! 💙

A special mention to our wonderful comms volunteer Ali, who put us forward as one of the nominated charities – thank you for thinking of us and making this happen!

We’re delighted that Smart Works Reading was chosen as one of four local charities to benefit from this year’s fete, receiving an incredible £500 to support our work helping women across the Thames Valley with the clothing, coaching and confidence they need to succeed at interview and move into employment.

Thank you to the brilliant fete committee, volunteers, sponsors, stallholders and everyone who came along and helped raise such a fantastic amount for local charities.

If you’re organising a fundraiser, workplace challenge, community event or charity initiative, it’s really easy to choose Smart Works Reading as your nominated charity. Every amount raised helps us support more women in our local community - and we’d love to work with you.

We’re delighted to announce that Charvil Village Fete 2026 raised an amazing £2,059.06! 🎉

The money raised will be split between four fantastic local charities:

A huge thank you to everyone who made the fete possible – our wonderful volunteers, stallholders, entertainers, activity providers, raffle and auction prize donors and, of course, everyone who came along and supported us on the day.

We’d also like to say a very big thank you to our sponsors ABS, Accord, Hicks and Avocado Property. Your support really does help us make the fete happen.

It’s really simple. Instead of buying a raffle ticket, you decide how much you’d be willing to pay for the prize you want.

Click the link below, enter your bid against any of the prizes you’d like to win and submit the form. You can bid on one prize or as many as you like. When bidding closes, the highest bidder for each prize wins it and we’ll contact the winners.

What an incredible afternoon! ❤️

🎉 TODAY IS THE DAY! 🎉

The Charvil Village Fete is happening today and we can’t wait to welcome you!

📅 Today – Sunday 6 September
⏰ 2–6pm
📍 East Park Farm Playing Fields
🎟️ FREE ENTRY

Join us for live music, a petting farm, bouncy castle, climbing wall, dog show, classic cars, children’s games, face painting, glitter tattoos, tennis, a book swap, raffle, bottle tombola and more than 25 stalls!

There will also be plenty of food, drinks, cakes, sweets, slush and ice cream to enjoy. 🍔🍰🍦

A few reminders:

💳 Please bring cash as well as a card, as payment options will vary
🧺 Bring a picnic blanket or chairs if you’d like to settle in for the afternoon
📚 Bring a book to exchange at the book swap
🐕 Dogs are welcome for the dog show – please keep them safely under control
🚶 Please walk to the fete if you’re able to
🚒 The fire engine’s attendance will depend on operational requirements

The Sheriff of Berkshire will officially open the fete, so arrive in time for the start!
