💚 Adoption Week Scotland 2026 will take place from 16 - 20 November, and we’re delighted to be taking part!

🗓️ We’ve got an exciting line-up of events planned throughout the week, offering opportunities to ask questions, hear from others with lived experience and find out more about the adoption journey.

🫶 Every adoption journey is unique, and there may be times when connecting with others who understand can provide valuable support. Our monthly Adoption Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for families to come together and connect with one another.

Peer support can offer opportunities to:

✅ Connect with other parents who understand the journey
✅Share experiences, advice and practical ideas
✅Feel heard and understood
✅Learn from other families’ experiences
✅Build friendships and a sense of community
✅Celebrate successes and talk through challenges
✅Remind yourself that you’re not alone

💚 This month's Therapeutic Playgroup was a particularly busy session, with our group continuing to grow and more families joining us. We were also delighted to welcome birth children along, making it a lovely opportunity for siblings and families to spend time together.

🌿 There was plenty to keep everyone busy, with indoor and outdoor play in our garden, including a teddy bears’ tea party, colourful block building and lots of imaginative play.

📚 We finished the morning with a special Bookbug story time, sharing the story "I love you to the moon and back", a beautiful story of love between the parent and child.

🫶🏼 It’s wonderful to see our playgroup growing into a warm and supportive community, where families can build connections, create memories and enjoy quality time together.

❓ A question we’re often asked is: how long does the adoption process take?

💚 There isn’t one set answer, as every individual and family we assess has their own circumstances and journey.

⌛ We’re committed to completing your adoption assessment within 6 months, although there are several stages involved in the wider adoption process.
