🏃‍♀️🎤🍔 One gig a day? Not for Rock Choir!

On the very same day as entertaining the incredible Kiltwalk finishers in Balloch, we packed up, jumped in our cars or back on the train and raced back to Paisley for the annual Food and Drink Festival. Talk about a busy Saturday!

Taking our place on the steps of Paisley Town Hall, we soon discovered that food wasn't the only thing attracting a crowd. Before long, a huge audience had gathered, proving that people apparently like a side of live music with their burgers, cakes and coffee. We even got a bit of audience participation!🎶😄

For this performance, we dusted off a few old favourites from the Rock Choir songbook, bringing back some classics that many of our members hadn't sung in a while. Judging by the reaction from the crowd, they were definitely worth revisiting!

One of those songs was Green Green Grass, and we've included a video so you can enjoy a little taste of the day. 🎤💚

🥾🎶 On Saturday 25th April, Rock Choir had the honour of entertaining the incredible Glasgow Kiltwalkers after they crossed the finish line. And what an achievement it was! An amazing 20,000 big-hearted walkers took part, raising a staggering £4.3 million (and counting) for 1,111 Scottish charities. 💜

A huge congratulations to everyone who walked, volunteered, organised, donated and supported this fantastic event. We were delighted to be part of such an inspiring day and help give the finish line the party atmosphere it deserved!
😄🥾🎶

I don't seem to have any photos of our performance but here's a shot of us enjoying the scorcher of a day.

🎶✨ On 17th April, we had the pleasure of performing at the Quarter Community Hub, and what a fantastic evening it was!

The Hub is raising funds for an exciting project to transform the church building into a vibrant community space for local people to enjoy for years to come. It's always wonderful to support organisations that are bringing people together and creating something special for their community.

We were greeted by a fantastic audience who sang along, clapped along and made us feel incredibly welcome. In fact, they were so enthusiastic that we started wondering whether we'd accidentally recruited a new choir! 😄🎤

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. We had an absolute blast performing for you all.
And to the wonderful team at Quarter Community Hub, we'll see you at Christmas! 🎄🎶❤️

🌧️➡️🎶 The show must go on!

On 4th April, we were all set to perform at the Hamilton Easter Gala, one of our favourite annual community events, packed with live entertainment, street food, craft stalls and plenty of Easter fun.

Unfortunately, the Scottish weather had other ideas! As the rain rolled in, the decision was made to move the entire gala indoors to the Regent Shopping Centre.

But if there's one thing Rock Choir knows how to do, it's adapt! We swapped open skies for shopfronts and, as it turned out, we may have got the better deal. The acoustics inside the shopping centre were fantastic, allowing our songs to ring out louder and clearer than ever.

It was wonderful to see shoppers stopping in their tracks, joining the audience and enjoying the unexpected live music. The atmosphere was every bit as warm and welcoming as it would have been outdoors, proving that a little rain wasn't going to stop anyone from having a great time.

A huge thank you to the organisers for pulling off such a quick change of plan and to everyone who came along to support the event. 🎤☔🎵

🎶✨ What a way to kick off a festival! ✨🎶

On 27th March 2026, Rock Choir helped launch the Paisley Arts Festival in spectacular style, starting the three-day celebration of art, music and live performance with a bang!

Taking our place on the steps of the iconic Paisley Town Hall, we performed against a stunning backdrop as the magnificent building was illuminated for the occasion. With the lights shining, the music soaring and festival-goers gathering to enjoy the atmosphere, it felt like a truly magical evening.

There's something special about singing outdoors in the heart of a town that's celebrating creativity, culture and community.

🎉🎶 On 29th March 2026, we had the honour of performing at a truly special occasion – the 80th Anniversary Lunch of the Paisley Soroptimist Society.

Founded on a commitment to improving the lives of women and girls around the world, the Society has spent eight decades making a positive difference in communities both locally and globally. To help celebrate such a remarkable milestone was a privilege for our choir.

Members had travelled from Soroptimist branches across the UK to join the celebrations, creating a wonderful atmosphere filled with friendship, shared memories and plenty of laughter. We were delighted to provide the soundtrack to such a memorable afternoon and loved seeing so many smiling faces singing and clapping along.

Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this incredible 80-year landmark. Here's to celebrating the achievements of the past and the exciting future ahead! 💙🎵🥂

🎶💙 What a wonderful way to round off our Friends and Family concert series!

On 24th March, our Helensburgh Rock Choir members took to the stage in the beautiful Victoria Halls for a very special evening of music, community and fundraising.

This concert was held in support of Alzheimer Scotland, a charity that means a great deal to both me personally and to many members of our choir family. The work they do to support people living with dementia, and those who care for them, is truly invaluable.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our audience, members and supporters, we were delighted to raise a fantastic £858 for the charity, with our wonderful prefect, Wilma, proudly handing over the donation.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. From those took donations at the door, to our talented bakers who kept everyone well supplied with delicious cakes after the concert, it was a real team effort from start to finish.

💜 On 23rd March 2026, our Greenock Rock Choir members came together with friends, family and supporters for a very special concert in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.

We were touched by the generosity shown by everyone who attended, and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to support such an important local cause.

To top it all off, our efforts even earned us a spot in the local newspaper! 📰✨

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and helped make the evening such a success and we were delighted to raise £1,150. We are proud to support Ardgowan Hospice and the incredible work they do for our community every day. 💜🎶

🎶🏡🍰 On 20th March 2026, we had the pleasure of entertaining the wonderful members of Brookfield Bowling Club — a club with an incredible history dating all the way back to 1901.

As if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, it also happened to be the very day I moved house. So after a day of boxes, stress and wondering where I'd packed the toaster, it was straight off to choir and a much warmer welcome.

The members of Brookfield Bowling Club looked after us brilliantly, treating us to sausage rolls, tea and what felt like at least 20 different varieties of cake. 🍰😂

A huge thank you to everyone at the club for making us feel so welcome. With hospitality like that, we're more than happy to make a return visit... although we'll need to spend a little longer singing and a little less time at the cake table next time! 🎤🎶💕
