We had a brilliant, well attended talk by the wonderful Danny Dorling last night!😃
Danny spoke around his new book "The Next Crisis", and he wove topics from the changes in Oxford city from when he grew up to the recent fantastic election results in Hungary to the dangers of AI. A lot of ground covered, lots of audience engagement and interesting questions!
BTW - don't miss our next fascinating talk on May 12th with Valerie van Mulukom: "Why Religion?" follow link to register:

Are you a non-religious parent, or simply concerned that children should be educated not just about different religions but also non-religious world views such as Humanism? Do you agree that the guidelines around "Collective Worship" in schools, which haven't been revised since 1998 are woefully out of date for today's society?
Then our next talk is something not to miss! We have Lewis Young, Humanists UK's Education Campaigns Manager coming to speak to us on Tuesday March 10th on the implications of the recent case in Northern Ireland (JR87) which determined that RE there amounted to indoctrination and not education, along with other issues involving RE in schools across the UK.
Please note our new venue: North Oxford Association Center, Diamond Place, Summertown, Oxford. OX2 7DP

And of course, a special thank you to Andrew Copson for navigating us through this thoughtful discussion!

We've received a request from Chris Miller, who is a Research Associate on the "Nonreligion in a Complex Future project". He is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa, who has asked us to post a link to his survey. Please read his note below carefully before taking part.

"As part of the Nonreligion in a Complex Future project, we are conducting a survey that explores perspectives and experiences on death and dying. If you have experienced the death of someone close to you in the past 12 months, please consider completing this brief online survey. The survey should take roughly 10-20 minutes to complete, and will ask questions about services that the deceased utilized and their overall experiences throughout the dying process. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the research team by email ([email protected]).
